Disagree completely with that. The Dreamworld encapsulates an alternate reality where things are good but also just kinda off. They showcase that deep inside sunny knows things are wrong but instead of dealing with it he invents a new world where everything is fine and he and his friends can go on spectacular adventures in this realm of fantasy. In contrast to the reality that's more greyed out, the reality where he was responsible for causing the event that pretty much caused an entire group of friends to separate.

My huge issue with Omori is it felt like a betrayal of the original comic and got too focused on making a 'deep' game. A sin a ton of indie developers get caught in.
Original comic the guy was an actual hikki. He wasn't some poor traumatized soul who murdered his sister. Omori is just another story that uses trauma as a crutch to explain hikki behavior.
