There's been several AI vtubers over the years, but only Neuro really took off because she has an autisticly obsessive programmer compared to the more casual devs of other projects I've seen.
Someone that actively wants to make bots to allow for games to be played.
Adding contextual awareness via simple image recognition would be the next big step up for her now that she has some emotional awareness and model control.

Nen was really the only other one that was pretty much consistent from what I saw, others fell off. Nen had a few upgrades, but nowhere near as much development as Neuro has.
I assume the success of Neuro will result in a few others figuring, "hey, I could do that" and boom, more competition in the AIchuuba space.
There's already a few devs I know who could probably do just as good, if not a lot better, than Vedal when it comes to the making bots play games department.
However I don't think any of them have any interest in making a vtuber, buuuut you never know, weirder things have happened.

I made some basic ass bots for the game a while back too, used extremely basic image recognition to find its way around.
Don't even think I cared to back it up when I was moving shit to a new computer when it was apparent my drive was dying. Or my worlds. Stopped playing the game because of Microsofts bullshit cancer they've been forcing on everyone.

It's far easier to make a bot play the game if you mod the actual Java file though, but that's CHEATING.
Stuff like that baritone bot system that's used on loads of servers now.
Can't beat it when someone brute forces their way to bothood via image recognition and goal management.
