I mean, it is true, she does seem to barely know how to work the buttons in non-FPS and it's kinda staggering - but, usually skills don't translate over genres much (or at all). Someone really good at mobas isn't gonna have any skills for FPS really - maybe they might translate a bit to RTS however, sorta like how regular FPS players probably could get the hang of arena shooters i.e Quake/Tribes etc (if anyone still played those). Both of these types of gamers would get thrashed at a fighting game if they weren't carefully trained up on them, etc. In this regard MGS is an action game and quite different than what she's used to so it shouldn't actually matter, but it does to her. The problem with MGR was a bunch of Metal Gear fans joined Selen for the first time and decided she wasn't living her life correctly.
This is all on Selen though, because obviously a well-liked niche series is going to draw in those niche fans.
She could have just continued to play like a retard and just chilled out and not taken losing repeatedly more seriously. But she wanted to finish the game in one stream, and she was worried that her reputation as "le pro fps gamer girl" would be damaged if she sandbagged, so she chose spite instead.
Never a good idea to spite your supporters, no matter how annyoing they're being.

Did people really just memory hole this whole menhera arc of grinding to masters to be able to collab with ImperialHal (which ended up never happening)?
This was also one of the first times she told the story of her teammates calling her a boosted bitch while grinding for pred during her pre-niji days.
