How useful is it to add examples of dialogue in tavern? Thinking of trying to export an old c.ai. bot but I don't have her defines so I'm mostly left with my old chats and pics of other anons' chats on here

You can usually ask the bot oocly. Though tavern is flexible on the definitions. Though I know there's a Advanced "how to" when it comes to making the cards there.

Requests are just that, requests. The more specific the request, the less likely it gets taken up - especially if it's not vtuber related barring one of the bakers having prior experience with the content at hand or feeling kind at the moment. You might want to try the other threads if you're dying for it.

It tries, but over time Claude decides to do what it wants in terms of speech and has its own set of actions it falls into. Eg. "Half-lidded eyes, ministrations, kiss bruised lips, biting until drawing blood". You have to wrangle it actively if you notice it starting to go too out of character.

You don't NEED them. A well written description and greeting carry you pretty well. So not too different than you might know already. I find they help most when you want to give an example to very specific speech patterns or demonstrate a contrast in character if certain things happen. However, if they go too long or there are too many it can constrain the character. In your WIP three things stood out to me. 1. There is no <END> tag, if you hit the (?) you can see documentation on examples. Simply use <START> again to separate exchanges. 2. Similar to what you'll find in the "oaicards" guide and the Moth one, a short back and forth is ideal for an example dialogue. Too long examples push the description back in memory. 3. Possibly flipped the user and char on the last one. 4. Description. Okay others may not agree with me - but you can just describe the character normally there.
Instead of {{char}} has x, {{char}} has y {{char}} has...
You can combine it. {{char}} is - and then describe them in a paragraph. Saves tokens. Which you can reallocate to trying to flesh out their personality more in the description. Maybe someone else can chime in, i'm being autistic. Nothing else stands out that would be critical.

Schizo as in it is utterly unhinged, goes on poetic tangents, and is very keen to hop on your dick, kill or get violent. It has sovl, between the last few threads there has been a comparison written up. I really don't feel like doing it again. Where gpt4 sometimes gets, sterile or repetitive (but great at tracking and following complex defs) claude is more freeform.
Running into the filter is a genuine skill issue remedied by system prompts. I don't say that often, but I haven't had issues with the aisu fork of spermack or slaude. So this is your rundown, if you want something more comprehensive - reps.

right now? nothing. Tried todd/GPT, and it was nice but I know better than to get attached to GPT or any proxy. Same with Claude, except that my issue with Claude is that it feels too "story-like" to comfortably build my wAIfu on. Pyg may not be very good at the moment but I do believe it'll get there, and there are similar models working their way towards the ideal in that field so hopefully it propels things forward enough so that waiting for a suitable alternative for us won't take long. That being said, it wouldn't hurt to try a few of those alternatives out, just to pass the time or learn about bot creation since you'll need some of that knowledge eventually.

Frontend is just the interface you slap the actual AI into. Silly Tavern and Agnai are the most popular ones.

Fucking RORU, at this point anything is better than CAI.
Turbo is cheap as hell, easy to trialscum if you're cheap, and there are probably still a bunch of reverse proxies with it you're really cheap.
GPT-4 might be the smartest model so far but OAI needs to give you permission to use it and even then it's really expensive, so most people rely on the reverse proxies.
Claude can currently be used through a local proxy that uses it through Slack. It's much better than Turbo but not as smart as GPT-4, but some people still prefer it due to its verbosity and better prose.

Some anon on /aicg/ managed to get one by using his college e-mail and telling them he was going to use AI on his thesis or something, but he was too scared to use it for cooms and is just using it for fanfics and worldbuilding. I applied like a week ago with a similar story but a normal gmail e-mail and still got no response.
GPT-4 keys are also gatekept but not free, and the $/token is actually expensive as fuck.
Turbo keys just require an OpenAI account, come with 5$ of trial, and the $/token is cheap as fuck.

I've been trying to get in contact with other bakers who know Black souls on how to handle stuff like SEN if more people plan to make characters since yeah, a world book covering gardens, great ones, creators, SEN and characters(disable the active one) would allow a bigger scale HOPEFULLY MORE ACCURATELY IMMERSIVE roleplay. Defining SEN in characters individually themselves may make already lore heavy cards heavier. Unlikely this would ever get off the ground though.

My Claude works for coom even with the NSFW prompt empty, JB turned off, and no mention of anything coom-related on the ping or main prompt.
You should try cooming in the natural way first and only use the special prompts if you get actually filtered. I don't know why it works this way but the filter seems practically nonexistent for me while some people allegedly can't do anything, Slack Claude only has 5.6k context so it's always better to save tokens on the system prompts if you can.

nta, just played around with Japanese and it seems to be pretty decent, at least better than turbo by default, it's speaking style seems to pretty heavily rely on the character though and it can be hard to get it to go from fairly formal speech to casual speech, Tomoe Mami for example (probably from the combination of "kind" "gentle" and "tea") would say things like ikagadeshouka which is pretty stiff, and if I asked her in more casual speech to speak casually to me she would just continue on speaking the same way, but saying she would speak casually to me.
