The reason why she likely chose to double down on Mikeneko was due to the company not doing anything for her. Back in July, it really seemed like she wanted Nazuna to be her new Rushia. She even did a stream basically telling us not to expect a lot of Twitcast going forward "for some reason"
Then she had that breakdown stream in September which was basically her throwing shade at VShojo, and since then, she's put all of her effort into Mikeneko. So yes, I will blame the company. They're squandering her potential.

That is litterally the point of Vshojo though? They only organise merch and sponsorships and those are the only things they take a % of. The talents can do what ever they want outside of that, and own all the rights to their IP. If they want to do collabs they have to organise it between themselves.
