I've been watching Kano for over a year now and at least 3 of the viewers who appeared when 4chan discovered her continue watching her, so I don't think they did.

Her decrease in viewers coincide exactly with the end PUBG Lite. So I guess until she buys the new PC and starts playing the full version of PUBG, her numbers will have a small decrease.

Kano is likely using an omnidirectional mic, it's usually what the cheap mics are.

Her biggest problem currently is not the mic though, it's that Japan's summer has started and she potentially has up to 3 fans on blowing on her wind her - when they wind hits the mic, it's getting choppy.

But yeah, a dynamic would probably help her - as long she's using an interface and sets gain properly.

She's cute, what can I say? The DIY setup and the earnest attempt at interaction with her EOPs is very endearing. This question gets asked so many times, and the answer always boils down to

Even with 8/10 of her active viewers being EOP, she's still able to communicate with them and bridge the gap between them with easily understood humour and visuals.

Look at her archive. Find me a VOD with less than 100 viewers within the last 3 months that isn't her most recent Minecraft stream. You won't find a result, and if anything you'll see that her April Fools skit using her 'Snowman' voice has more views than the majority of her APEX streams before and after, which her audience has been relatively okay with considering what a saturated market it is.

Kano is doing just fine for where she's at. Dedicated regulars, a few artfags, an appealing design and spirit and a genuine heart for what Vtubing.

Also, her recent birthday stream.When Kano-san and Ojissan had a duet, the views actually spiked for the duration of the duet, she jumped form her regular 16 to 38 viewers.
The only time Kano had higher live viewer counts were during PUBG Lite streams.

Kano's scuffled model with her usual choice in background music is gives me some aggressive childhood nostalgia of being carefree, getting home from the school, drawing and playing vidya - a time I can never go back to.
Genuinely there isn't a single vtuber other than Kano who has given me that and it's frankly healing. She's genuinely unique.

Healthy enough, the lockdowns caused by the zhang cough had some negative effects but adopting a new hobby and working on building new skills seems to have done the job of managing it.

Kano is a female character voiced by a male, Kano said this herself. It was never hidden information for anyone who did minimal archive reps and knows basic Japanese.

Kano doesn't use a voice changer, it's voice acting, it's pretty evident for anyone who does some basic archive reps and can see the evolution of the voice.
And because it's fun - I like Kano's giant Minecraft projects, or how Kano went to great lengths to build machinery that would make farming materials easier, and the actor was actually skilled in PUBG Lite, making for some good streams. The Genshin streams were also fun, instead of chasing 5 stars Kano just took on the challenge and kept playing with what came her way, and became skilled at playing Amber.
Also, the stream atmosphere is chill and comfy - there's no overhyped high-pitched screaming and Kano is okay with the chat talking between themselves to a certain degree, and because there aren't as many viewers it fosters a small sense of community that's rare among vtuber chats.
Last but not least, the simple character design, the DIY mentality and the scuffled setup as a result of trying one's best with what's available is endearing - it has a level of sincerity (aka SOUL) that you don't get on a lot of vtubers (which is by the very nature of vtubing, as people are assuming a different identity) and I appreciate that.
