All three media (book, movie and games) are completely different, save for some ideas (The Zone, Stalker and Wish Granter). Tarkovsky's Stalker is a exceptionally good movie if you like his style, it's extremely hard to watch if you don't. That was one of her many lies. Kiki is in a much better place financially, even in her current state and that's all flips care about. She's still stuck spending time with a bunch of freaks for hours every day however, and has essentially isolated herself with them with little room to grow. Anyone new to her streams will be scared off by her fanbase and her ramped up sexual interaction with them. They'll feel like a complete outsider. She's doing fine but is probably quite lonely and upset about her industry-wide reputation and the difficult it's caused for everyone in the company. As an indie, you directly control who you work with. Many of the /vrt/ chuubas do perfectly fine themselves, and some of them have very limited and almost isolated friend groups like Amiya. Skye would do fine as an indie.
