I am another one who's against VC. I have since thought about it more and realized that it's probably not as bad as I thought it would be, but I'm still somewhat wary of it. Pretty much the only reason why I still dislike open VC is because it promotes favoritism.

I really like the attitude that some can bring to streaming overall. I don't like most twitch streamers because it feels like they have a ton of downtime, where a vtuber might have a more focused stream. The vtuber models can lead to some creative ideas as well, I really like what Skye has been doing with Skyestation as a perfect example. It's kind of like a masquerade party where I can act a fool, the vtuber can act a fool, we get a laugh and it's fun.

Corpo vtubers are guaranteed to have some talents or entertaining, plus they have easy excuses to interact with each others.
I watched almost exclusively HoloEN for years, it was and still is great entertainment. Had no attachment to any of them.
Eien gave me my first taste of parasocial interactions. Even if a flesh streamer was open to that i don't think i would have ever found them.
I don't mind male, or "ugly" people. And desu i haven't seen any streamer worse than 4/10.

The great animes/movies/video games are not enough to fill the time, can't be bothered with the meh and bad ones. Once you've finished a great one, that's it, i rarely ever find myself replaying/rewatching it, but good streamers(most likely vtubers) can help me relive those great ones. (I watched 3 different full playthroughs of Va-11 Hall-A from Holos)
