For tick throws, the quarter circle forward grab is your main one. Not the cartwheel but the one that uses the grab button. The only grab of hers that isn't a command grab is the regular one you get by pressing the grab button. Cartwheels aren't all that useful unless you know how to combo into them. Another thing to note is that her super grab, the 236S grab is the fastest move in the game. You can punish things other characters can't with this, and if you have 2 bars you can use it as a way to steal your turn back if the other guy isn't using airtight blockstrings. Watch out for people trying to bait it out though.

Some numbers autist on twitter figured out that every 10 specials, FBK gets a guaranteed SSR.
Tried it out in training mode and VS AI, and confirmed it for myself.
Each of her specials have their own memory bank and it carries throughout rounds. The tenth special will always be SSR regardless if any of the previous nine were SSR.

Fucking 5f 5L that hits crouchers and is -1 on block. Characters with 6f jabs can only hope to trade against 5L pressure resets and in those trade situations Ayame retains a good position because 2M exists.

Never understood why people were complaining to begin with. Granted I started day 2 so I didn't get to see day 1 meta, but I don't think I have played a good Ayame online at all. Ayame is the character I have played against the most but none have made me feel like the character was top tier, even the competent ones.
