No idea about 2(I heard some not good things about its development but nothing about the game itself) but 1 is a very solid game. Might be a bit too long to play to completion since it gets pretty repetitive when you get your characters up. It also gets much harder in DLC and the actual Darkest Dungeon.

I quite literally can't comprehend this complaint. So streamer having to think and probably narrate their thinking process is bad? So any game that makes you use your brain and not just spinal cord is bad for streaming? I can't agree with this sentiment. Watching Mori learn games, get excited over getting things right or just talking about what she's doing is great. Eu4 with full DLC has an insane amount of mechanics you need to know before you even make a move. You load game and now you have to handle everything: relationship with factions in your country, relations with neighbors, trade, economy, religion, military. Once you figure it out it becomes easier, in big part because Paradox UI team is god-tier and you have all information you need to make your decisions. But the initial overwhelming feeling is what likely scares most people away from the game and why some people never get into them. I had same happen with HoI3 where I booted it back in the day, saw UI and noped out of it before I sat down and figured how the hell research and chain of command worked. Rimworld feels much less overwhelming. 3-5 people to manage, most actions don't cause immediate feedback from other things, you can pretty much progress at your own pace very calmly unless you enable harsher settings.
