Just went and did my workout reps. Feeling better from the exertion, but still generally numb. I think I will feel better tomorrow, having slept, but I expect this numbness to last a while.

I think the next stream will be difficult as well, but also begin some healing. We still have time left with her to cherish.

I also am watching some of the discussion in the sticky about backups of her content. I don't have anything planned right now, but if there is an effort that gets organized, I have a few hard drives I can offer to start collecting. Maybe a shared spreadsheet with a list of streams (including collabs on other's channels maybe?) where people can mark off if they have downloaded a particular stream. Not so that only one person downloads each, but so that at least one downloads each.

I think because that's actually how it wound up originally designed by Coco. There isn't a clean vector of it, to my knowledge, but if you can find the huge one it wouldn't be hard to vectorize.

As far as I know, yes. Which is a little more saddening to me, but also kind of... well it demonstrates the sheer effort that she puts into everything.
Even while she was incredibly sad herself, choking back emotions to say what she needed to, she was still making the effort to perform, to act, to control her avatar in a way that fit the mood occasionally, ensuring that she wasn't just perma-neutral-smiling. She is very good at what she does, even under emotional circumstances.

That's not to say that kson is bad content or not worth following or anything like that, I've been subbed to her for over a year now and enjoy her gaming streams and cosplays. But I think it's fair to say that kson is lesser than coco. Ironically by stepping out of 2D and switching fully over to 3D, she's losing a dimension of expression.

On the topic of her roommate there's something I've been wanting to mention for a while. Almost a month ago Coco took that mini break because she apparently couldn't think of anything interesting to talk about on stream, the same one where she came back from the break with the stun gun and the gold 1M subs plaque. Anyway in the middle of that break, her RM did a morning makeup stream and at the beginning, right after she clicked the "go live" button or whatever, she just sits there looking absolutely fucking miserable for a few seconds, before she "turns on" for the camera so to speak. The image like burned into my brain. I wrote it off though because she had just woken up, so maybe I was reading into it too much and confusing looking sad with looking really tired, but my gut told me something was up. She's done a few morning streams and never really looked sad in them. I wonder if that was actually the day she went into the office to meet with the boss and finalize this shit, and she picked up the play button on her way out, and she just did that little stream to talk to some people and cheer herself up.

The US. Investment is easy to get here, but people are expensive, which means you need more investment, which means you give up more of your ownership, and more control... and then of course "your thing" is not even your own.

Sure if you want to do some tech company from your garage, $100K can get you and two bros through the year. But the idea of starting a company that has real workforce needs, and has all of the associated risks of the BS that YouTube (or any platform) can throw at you? Trying to start something for $100K seems like a recipe for failure unless you have a BIG advantage over incumbents (Coco might!) and you really, really know how you're going to get to profitability (or an invest-able position).

I don't know what the startup costs per vtuber are, though. Design, model, rigging... I don't know what supporting services are standard/expected. It might be reasonable if she had only 2-3 talents initially, and they initially cost her less than half of what she is willing to invest, and can make the money back within half a year, or so? I don't necessarily disagree, I just could see it going either way. Being a small company is always about compromises along the spectrum of "Good Enough". It's not so much outsourcing the accounting, but if you don't know an accountant who is familiar with your type of business, you're probably not getting all of the advantages you can, and/or you might run the risk of doing taxes wrong. ESPECIALLY in the US where taxes are crafted so as to enrich the accounting services companies.

Then there's contracts. Same deal. A good lawyer who knows entertainment contracts is probably pricey. Or you could write the contracts yourself (I've done it and been okay!) but you run the risk of Fucking Up Royally in any number of ways. There's a reason "IANAL" is such a famous acronym.

This is a huge point. She could probably even GET a small gaggle of small-scale investors just based on who she is/. Yep. I agree. The point I'm making is just a slight nuance: Being a "Manager" is not the same as Company CEO, beyond a small size. Let's assume her passion really is for the management: strategizing with the talents, supporting them, helping strike deals for partnerships, sponsorships, wrangling permissions, etc.

If she wants to manage 2-5 talents, maybe she can spend most of her time "managing" and less of her time "executive-ing", but the bigger it gets, the less the top levels get to be involved in doing the real work that they used to love.

Yeah there was a derpy charm to the original model. The eyes a little too far apart, the limited movement, the 1px or 2px nose from most angles... I don't think it was good because of that, I think it grew on me and I loved it because Coco was behind it, and was able to MAKE it into something I laughed at every day, and so I began to love DESPITE all of the rough and scuff.

I think you can put two and two together. Bad management from Cover, lack of innovation content wise, rejecting all kinds of ideas (remember when Pekora broke down because of it?), *and* the whole antis issue. I do feel that Coco was going to retire this year anyway, but the fact that when she got her streams to be safe only meant antis started targeting other talent made her want to quit before she was done with Hololive.

ENs lost their "godmother" of sorts, and it makes me wonder what they will do with them after this. I don't think EN gen 1 has reached its full potential, even though the rrat is that the end of the TTRPG session will also signify the announcement of EN gen 2. Ame has been a positive surprise for me and she seems the most entertaining one. I didn't liked Gura because she seemed like a non entity for me but I think she has serious talents that aren't being exploited by Cover properly. Calli seems more interested in trying to see if she can build up an audience and take it with her after graduation (I'm afraid that will backfire enourmously), Ina is just chill and Kiara is Kiara. I think Coco wanted a Holo EN to have a group of partners in crime, but Cover decided they had to be just like the JP girls but in english.
