good morning /pyon/!! i'm catching up at the moment. trying to get some of my shifts covered for the rest of the week, i want to maximize rabbit time while i have a week off from school

man i like the idea of this on paper, but it's flawed in terms of gameplay because it's pretty easy to cheese if you just grind with your starter to make them invincible, and also there isn't enough variety in the starting areas to really make it as random as it aught to be, no matter what you're gonna be stuck with a fucking gay ass badoof or sparrow or some shit, but honestly that is more a flaw with pokemon games as a whole, you're forced on a linear path through the same areas on each playthrough so naturally every time you play you're going to tend to have the same kinds of team comps if you're just playing the game normally unless you actually go out of your way to catch and train up something different

pokemon games imo would be much better if they forced you into a random starting town or area, or let you pick a starting town and area and scaled up the the trainers and pokemon you find in the wild based on where you started rather than the same boring ass vanilla path every single time

The biggest point of the Nuzlocke is to rely on your own willpower to make the game more challenging and interesting. If you just continue to be a min-maxing faggot, then yeah, it defeats the purpose. Don't go grinding the fuck out of your pokemon until everything is a walk in the park. The idea is to make every battle have high-stakes risks. If someone makes it through a Nuzlocke without losing a single pokemon, I don't think they understood the point.
Which addresses your second issue. Expect to lose pokemon, and to replace them as you go along. Your first few might be starter zone shit but you don't *have* to keep them alive at all costs. Might be cruel, but it is what it is.
It's also why it's a flexible challenge with countless variants - you can set your own personal rules at the start. You don't have to abide by the "catch and keep only the first pokemon you encounter" rule if you want to have a better variety, etc.
But yeah, I agree with you that the pokemon games themselves need to be properly reimagined, instead of rehashing the same exact shit over and over with some tacked-on bullshit like they've been doing for years. Pokemon has a ton of potential that they will never seem to tap into, sadly.

I cant put my finger on it but cold can of soda tastes way better than a plastic bottle. The only thing I think makes it taste better is when its in a glass bottle. It might have something to do with how cans and glass seemingly stay chilled for longer than plastic does

That's a good observation, because the inside of the canned soda is actually a thin layer of plastic, so it's the same material as the bottle basically but different thermal mass.

I prefer cans to glass bottles even. Unless that glass bottle has a top that is secured by one of those metal rings where you screw the top off but the very bottom of the ring stays attached. I think something about the metal touching my mouth makes the soda better, gives it a tang.
