Vei and Kson I have no fucking idea on. Leaning into lore you could give Vei Jet or Wing but neither fits particularly well and none of them really fit her new update. Kson has a sword but doesn't seem to use it the same way Zen does and something like Wrestler would fit her personality-wise, but Kson doesn't seem very suplex-y to me. So someone else figure those two out.

The general "idea" is that indies can sort of "get away" with it, but that's only because they're hoping the companies don't notice.
Nazuna is a 2.5k CCV streamer. She's attached to VShojo, so the Japanese just treat her as a corporate anyways, but even if that wasn't the case, everyone knows she was Rushia. She was part of a big corporation, so she 100% understands how important permissions are because one Holo nearly lost her YouTube account permanently over copyright strikes. She is simply too easy a target to not go through the proper permissions procedures.
One reason Kson would stream a lot of indie kusoge is that indie developers don't generally care about permissions because any exposure is good.

It's the big gaming publishing corporations who care about permissions. Think of the difference between say, Kson playing a game you made on stream versus some multi billion dollar company being annoyed about an entire game playthrough being streamed on release.
Remember when Nazuna got permissions to play MGSV and people were asking why Kson didn't? Then a Ksongumi came to confirm that Kson had actually gotten permissions a year ago when she also played that game.

In some ways, I like it being explicit more than it being legally gray. It's just that valuable copyright holders become defensive at some point. The reality is that this isn't Japan being autistic, it's that the mouse (of Mickey variety) lobbied insane international standards when the old copyright laws were plenty restrictive.
