47816858 No.47816858 [Reply] [Original]

Vtubers will lose all market value in English speaking countries by 2025. Mori's and Kronii's lackluster sales isn't karma from unicorn fans. It's a sign of EN's general decline. Just like how PreConne and other Japanese gacha games are pulling out of the West, vtuber companies will do the same soon. Moe-style goods just don't sell well outside of EA/SEA markets. The only English-speaking vtubers left will be indies in a niche community.

As a mainstream attraction? Yeah, probably.

Right now, it's just the flavor of the month that normies are curious about. But, the normies will move on in due time.

It will always have value as a niche market for weebs, though.

Where did the narrative that Mori's sales are bad even come from? Every time she's talked about merch or album sales stuff, it's always how she ended up smashing UMG's expectations, and the blu-ray is apparently doing really well, too. She's pushing it so hard because it'll get her extra goodies for her next sololive, which was confirmed immediately after the first one.
I mean, you guys watch streams here, right?

>> No.47822331

>>47821972
Probably that one stream where she thought she had to pay double taxes and anons just rolled with it thinking she's a poorfag because of double taxes.

>> No.47822532

>>47821972
Because she keeps begging people to buy the blu-ray, it's hard to ignore. OP is right though, Japanese vtuber EN branches were in the shitter long before le heckin tempiss boogeyman because they are fucking boring. Unlike bugmen, humans can only watch girls do the same thing over and over while jumping through management hoops to do any sort of novel content before you finally just check out.

As someone who plays Japanese gachas, they always do this. Find out what games a decent amount of western are playing, launch an EN localization, milk the whales as long as they can, then shut down support when profitability drops off.

More homobeggar cope it was always bad. Gura broke the sales record in June-July 2022. Gura only had 1 sub 10k ccv stream in 2022 compared to 3 in 2021. Her latest figure outsold Miku and matched pekora’s $1700 figure. Fauna is doing much better than before. Ina doesn’t seem to have any changes. So where’s their decline?

>> No.47822975

>>47822884
Fauna has 4k viewers right at this moment and Gura merch always sells. Everyone else gets the same views as they were pre-tempus, and apparently they're doing bad.

>> No.47823046

>>47822884
If Fauna collabed with Tempus or Eddy maybe she'd be able to get double her numbers on random kusoge like Kronii

>> No.47823122

>>47816858
The general EN vtuber market is still declining but will likely stabilize by late 2023 or early 2024. Still big enough for everyone in holoEN to have custom merch but with a higher percentage of casual fans. The EN members probably will start to consider shipping costs when designing merch.

>> No.47823189

>>47822884
Isn’t 2022 also when Gura stopped streaming? Rarity buff is a thing, you know. And it’s already well-understood that Fauna inclined because she’s consistent. As in, she kept streaming while everyone else was flaking out. I genuinely don’t know about Ina, although my first instinct is also rarity buff since she started streaming less in 2022 as well. But I might be wrong on that last one.
Look. I think the idea that HoloEN is “dying” is overexaggerated, but suggesting 2022 was somehow better for them than 2021 is so stupid it beggars belief.

The Priconne shutdown is suspicious, they had just pushed out a big app update a few weeks before the announcement with references to future content datamined, and all of the sudden they say it's shutting down in a month when every other gacha EoS gives at least a 2 month notice. There's speculation that Cygames pulled the license after Crunchyroll rigged the gacha in Street Fighter Duel

Do you think Suisei is unsuccessful because she's such an unrepentant shill? Mori specifically cited Suisei and Kiara as her model for how hard she wants to push the blu-ray. please exercise critical thinking

>> No.47829293

So when did "She is shilling so it must be selling bad" become part of the shitposting script? JPs corpo vtubers have shilled like crazy from the start and it's about time EN started putting in work to shill their stuff too.

Guess why Pippa is inclining upward like mad and becoming one of the most popular vtubers despite being from a smaller company with low marketing. She actually steams interesting content. The shock!
>>47827960
Suisei can hardly be called "unsuccessful." She may not be a world-famous name but she's doing well for herself and will continue to do well for the forseeable future because she works hard and puts out content that her fans like.

Tempus caused, at worst, decline that set some of them a year back, or, at best, stagnation for a year.
