The real answer that no one is going to say is this; Most of the subculture's wealth and interest is held up in four to five groups.
I don't know how to change that, but quality will always be tied to those groups, outside of it most indies don't stand a chance.

They cannot stand against even the smallest of the big groups. That's not to diminish them as creators, but if push comes to shove they don't win.
