do you guys buy merch? what's the quality like, especially the plushies? typical cheap chinese stuff or decent? either way i've already ordered, but with the absurd shipping costs, this is essentially a 70 dollar plush so i hope the quality is at least acceptable.

>> No.47314067

The quality is really high, plushies feel good to the touch

The plushies I've bought are all good. The only merch I haven't liked is the blankets. They're too small. Even the larger Aqua blanket is a bit small.

>> No.47314682

any issues with buying from geekjack as opposed to official store? i'm seeing mixed reviews about it

>> No.47314806

>>47314682
GeekJack is slower because they basically work as a proxy for overseas shipments. But they also may have lower shipping costs because they aren't locked into Priority Shipping like Cover is.

You should be fine if you can wait a bit longer for merch and you're not ordering anything super fragile.

Quality is on the higher end from what I've ordered. Be aware however that you'll have to wait half a year for your goods to arrive, and if you're buying clothes they'll be 2 sizes smaller than labelled (japanese XXL is western L).

>> No.47315196

>>47314682
To add to what the other anon said, if you buy articles of several merch in one go, your order will be delivered when the last article arrives at the Geekjack warehouse. It might seem obvious, but it can make a difference of several months. Also, depending on where you live, you might be asked to pay the custom fees directly to the delivery man when your package arrives

I'm fond of their dakis. Blankets have been good too. Backpacks, clothing etc. is usually bad/meh quality. Rubber mats aren't anything to write home about quality wise (really thin, no stitched edges). Beer mugs, coffee mugs etc. good.

The plushies are pretty good honestly, I haven't seen any stitching issues on all of mine at least.

If only all the blankets were the same size as Kiara's one. 2m length is pretty comfy

I got the dino gura, and also the gura and ina plushes, the dino gura was really good quality, probably the best I own, but the regular ina and gura plushes were a little lower but still good. The stitching and everything is solid and they definitely arent made out of chinesium or anything. I am also buying the furball korone.

Got signed phase connect merch at a con almost a year ago, don't even really watch them anymore desu, but the scroll designs look cool so I keep them as decor

I'd say the hoodies are pretty good quality. I'm very pleased with the Miko and Mio hoodies.
The shirts are just shirts though. Same with the hats. If you like whatever they've plastered on then go for it.

Good point, the Miko hoodie is actually really nice. I haven't gotten Mios yet (not that I'd wear it anyway).

I've bought a lot of plushies of the hololive members and their all pretty much made in china low quality shit, especially the hair and clothes feel really cheap

Mio hoodie seems pretty decent, but just from feeling it I can tell the edges of the printed logos on the arm and back will probably be he first thing to wear or flake off. I don't know the exact term or material, but it's a a very thin layer of rubbery material bonded to the fabric rather than being dyed into it or another layer stitched on like the front paw prints. The zipper is also attached by a fairly thin thread. The rest of the material feels good, however, and the paw prints are sewn on very strongly.

From the photos I've seen, custom anniversary merch tends to be higher quality with more detail (though you also pay more per). The other character plushes like the "friends with u" line seem to just be printed fabric for most of the clothes. And maybe he's like me and doesn't appreciate single-layer felt hair.

do they ever do more than one run on any product? i missed out on the pokobe plush...

>> No.47326255

Pretty sure that there haven't been any re-runs of event merch yet. It seems like the only things they would plan to re-run are non event merch that are also run by Cover. It may be up to the individual talent if they want to re-run merch, but in all likelihood, you're more likely to get a variant down the road than a rerun.

I have spent an ungodly amount on holomerch, and yes. A really nice scale figure will look a lot nicer than generic bits and bops of merch, unless it's something you really like.

Hololive merch tends to be of really good quality. I'm a poorfag myself and won't buy useless merch but their utensil and clothing lines are very good. I just think to myself I'm buying actual good clothes to wear at work or utensils I'll use for YEARS and thus justifying the cost.
Ina usually has good stuff, and the Anya sweater is amazing. Wanted to buy Ayame's drip but it was Q4 2022 and that was a hectic time for me.

>> No.47342728

I only buy anniversary/birthday goods so I can't speak on their general shits, but so far I'm pretty happy with it. I bought Korone's 3rd anniversary goods (tote bag, furball Korone keychain, shaker) and the quality is pretty decent even with daily uses. I hope the plushie is well-made since I've been waiting a while for this.
