I think the issue is that even if they don't chat the relative intimacy of the streams is lost.
Kronii has always been more open and willing to share or vent in members streams and now she might not feel comfortable doing that now with so many new people suddenly there.
Membership has always been a barrier that takes some deliberate effort to overcome and so you feel that everyone in there wants to be.
Now it can just be filled with people who just fell in by accident.
