color-mode layer with some alternative colors with gpen or other hard one.
multiply layer with some light blues with soft brush to create the form. When undecided on where light is coming from, i just go for 'somewhere in front/top' and make angles go darker in general.
Screen layer with near black colors with soft brush for popping off a little bit of the lights. Opposite of multiply layer.

I was more referring to designing the highlights(as in the multi color streaks, not the light reflection highlights) Bunching up the different colors to make a good shape has been really difficult. I feel like I need to draw the hair's lines and shape to facilitate the bunched colors from the getgo sort of like Bae's hair instead of just drawing over color streaks on top of normal mono color hair.

Yeah I think I explained it in a super shit way. I guess a better way to put it is 'where to put hair streaks' in a design perspective. To not make the hair too chaotic/distracting and not break the color scheme, etc.
