I think the fundamental mental state of gen 1/2 are just different from gen 3. Gen 1/2 does treat vtubing as side hobby (except nene) and they see being in Kawaii as being in a small brand they can build up themselves. They are proud of their progress despite of the flaws of the brand and corpo. They are aware that they are the underdog on the grand scheme of vtubing. For gen 3, at least some of them, Kawaii is the "best thing they can be in" and they won their spots by passing audition over many other girls. Something needs to be done about these drama channels. It's one thing when they're focusing on big companies that can take it, but Kawaii is too small for this. I really worry it's going to bring in an unsavory bunch and Kawaii is going to get the wrong kind of attention. Up till now they were able to glide comfortably under the radar.
