Are you seriously comparing EN with JP here? There was no StarsEN to collab with when the girls debuted, and the ones who have chosen to collab with them did so pretty soon after. JP Stars, on the other hand, existed well before Polka debuted. JP has always been a matter of choice, for EN it was a matter of opportunity.

I'm going to post it here to contain my schizophrenia and because I enjoy the anonymity.
This is probably it for me. I know she's interacted with men before (she is a human being after all), but doing it while being Polka just feels deeply wrong.
I can understand her having to do her job as a Cover talent, occasionally being in another Holostar's chat and such, but I knew something was wrong ever since those few collab shorts she's done. Doing a one-on-one stream watchalong was just too much for me honestly, I enjoyed her playing the idol part but now I will never be able to see her as an idol anymore. You can call her an entertainer all you want, but I expected her being an idol first and foremost.
Sadly this board and other parts of the fandom (God I hate that word) will feel validated and now use this as definitive proof to put Polka in a box, as a whore, as an unicorn destroyer or whatever stupid side it has to be. I don't even understand how some of them got into this, since they clearly hate idol culture, but now they have another holo that became their entertainer. Good for them, I guess.
God, now this thread will probably have to take these new tourists for the foreseeable future. I feel horrible now.

At this point I honestly don't think I can give it the benefit of the doubt anymore. They could've easily just have made separate watchalongs and keep it at a reply on each other's twitter announcement or something, but this wasn't the case.
This was brewing for some time, as previously mentioned. Polden, shorts and now streams, does she really have to do a duet with a Holostar member for people to be 100% about her stance on this issue?

I feel this so much. I didn't even watch the last festival, I just skipped to Polka's appearance and that was about it. Before Polka I hated streams (I still do, I think it sucks as a medium of entertainment and it is just barely better than television) but there's a ton of good stuff that can be done in vtubing that regular YouTubers can't. Puyo is stronger if you are an offensive player and can keep track of what completion combos you have setup. It does require you to be able to balance setup vs clearing, which is what Polka is struggling with.
Tetris is more of a defensive game. Gravity doesn't exist, so all you have to focus on is clearing your rows, and gray blocks spawn from below instead of on top, so they don't screw up your current work.
Puyo is, in theory, stronger for taking out your opponent, but Tetris gives you more room to play, so if you are good you can outlast your opponent until they screw up/gray blocks screw them.
