Otsonny!! He's playing Minecraft regularly again, he's really doing it... I haven't been keeping up as much with his MC cameos in others' streams since I forgot how much i disliked being on high alert all the time, so I didn't notice how much progress he made on HQ offstream. It's really starting to come together now, finally looks like an actual building again! He worked on it a little bit today and didn't seem quite as miserable as he has in the past which was actually kind of nice— there are, believe it or not, limits to the entertainment value of his mortal suffering. He's still autistic about little things but at least it seems he's cleared whatever hurdle was REALLY stopping him from accomplishing anything, defo makes it more enjoyable to watch. The little secret entrance in the bathroom is cute and you know what, an in-house railway transportation would be cool too. After running out of deepslate he took a detour to go do some cave diving, ahh I missed mining zatsu. It was also a pleasure to be blessed with his amazing ms paint art skills once more while he gave the world's most comprehensible explanation for echolocation. Nothing crazy done in MC today but I'm happy he's having fun again, hopefully next time he finally gets a roof on his crib and can make some progress on the interrogation room. He also played a tiny bit of MGSV while waiting for his pizza (hurrah for ordering food on-stream), just blowing up some tanks with an RPG as one does. Fun to watch until he died from falling four feet off his horse and failed the mission right before ending it, then didn't have a checkpoint KEK. I'm gonna say it wasn't a waste of time as long as he had fun. Also gave him an excuse to go get his dinner which he actually did eat on-stream during supachayomi time for once... I will always be torn between feeling glad he cooks more these days and missing frequent mgmg time. I have a feeling he'll order delivery more once it gets colder though, who knows. Fairly typical IDK today, very comfy and a bit of a throwback with MC and his pizza. He also did conjure up a scuffed tentative schedule at the start of stream! As I thought the birthday sched looks to be pretty chill, but I'm really excited for karaoke!!! Have some confidence sonny... I doubt you're getting "worse" at singing, just have fun with it........ But no complaints about the individual totsu either. Hope to see some of his JP senpais making a guest appearance! Mengen on Friday, and he was being weirdly secretive about saturday/sunday but apparently it's supposed to be a game if it works out...? Vtubing had a boom as a result of the coof, but the ceiling has been dropping across the board for a while now on the English streaming side. It's really a niche of a niche, and no longer novel. What's the draw for anyone to start watching vtubers NOW? Western weebs are much more aware of the existence of vtubers now compared to several years ago, so if they haven't already bought in, I can't see any convincing argument that they'll start now. And to people who don't watch anime at all, these stiff, talking cartoons with high pitched voices, etc. generate more secondhand embarrassment than anything else. In Japan, vtubing is much more mainstream so the barrier for an average person to tune in is so much lower.
The only avenue I can see for the long term success of the EN branches of JP corpos is to cater to SEA and China with their English streamers, and for more stable prospects long term they'd be wise to hire EN vtubers who can stream in JP as well. I genuinely think this is why Alban has been working so hard on learning Japanese; JP vtuber fans aren't going anywhere, and Alban really seems determined to stream for a long time to come. Hires like Ren (original music, non-JP genre) Kyo (gen z tiktok and twitch crowd) and Ver (kpop fans) all seem like attempts to draw in new types of western viewers, and I don't think the results have been promising.

Hex - This one felt like I was having a real conversation. I can't explain it, but it had a different vibe from any voice I've ever listened to. It was sort of natural.
