I really dont understand why they didnt just pour all money into the 3d studio and a PPV video streaming service. So they can have exclusive racy outfits without risking getting banned by youtube and getting the 30% youtube cut for themselves.

Yagoo suffers from a case of CEO arrogance but after the Live2D 3.0 update was cancelled he must know their vtuber tech is lagging behind the competition. He simply doesn't see the problem with that since he thinks the hololive brand name and marketing is more important. That is why Cover is focusing their development efforts on HoloEarth and 3D concerts because they could bring in more revenue.

Live2D 3.0 had so many bugs the project was scrapped which is why Cover hasn't said a word about new models for other gens since July. That is one of the reasons people are skeptical of them becoming an MMO game developer since HoloEarth will have a codebase at least a hundred times more complex than their Live2D software.

This is unironically true. Better tracking falls into that category of nice to have but literally nobody is watching any vtuber because of it and nobody is going to stop watching any vtuber because of it not improving much. It's a QoL improvement not a game changer or deal breaker. It makes complete sense for it to be low priority for corporations because it doesn't really have any significant effect on the bottom line.
