According to Pomu, they don't make a ton off of the merch specifically, so you don't have to force yourself to buy every piece they put out, save up for the special stuff you really want if you don't wanna buy everything. Pomu talked about a week or so ago. Voicepacks & Streamlabs, then Superchats, then Merch.
I'm guessing VP & SL are 50/50 splits, Superchats are 35% (35% AC, 30% Susan), and Merch is somewhere below 35% (which is still free money for the livers, since they don't have to do anything for the merch).

context was what routes give the liver the biggest cut.
usually the discussion becomes ooh merch doesn't support the livers, but I'd argue that demonstrating merch potential to manufacturers is better than giving your oshi x dollars. same with free things like fanart and trending discussions; it doesn't give the liver direct funding, but instead grows the audience and introduces more fans who might buy some merch. or opting for gift memberships over straight dono, on the off chance one of them renews
