Was Lazulight more idol-like in the past? I don't remember where exactly, but there's one post about how Lazulight (and Obsydia) was meant to be more idol-like, simulating Hololive, but then from Ethyria on they started going in their current trend. Is this true?

They just didn't seem comfortable streaming early on, like most vtubers it took them a while to really get into the swing of things. If you go back and watch early Pomu and Finana streams you can really tell how much they're adjusting their voice to try to be cute and being careful about how they choose their words and shit. They're all much more relaxed these days.

Lazulight started off a lot more seiso and even avoided swearing on stream for the first few months. This changed around the time they did that twitch stream that had Finana's egg story and Pomu's stale popcorn, and they loosened up after that. They had a lot of pressure to make a good impression as the first in the entire branch, and with 90% of the existing western audience coming from HoloEN it's not a surprise they tried to keep things clean at first.
Imo even though they acted a little more "pure" at first, they never really felt like idols to me. Then again I've never really felt that way about any vtuber just from how they act on stream.
