Selen probably picked the worst time to get into D2. Bungie just cranked up the difficulty of most PvE activities, did a bunch of system overhauls to make building more accessible, and introduced a new subclass and destination. So players are largely confused or running on outdated info, and shit that used to be prime newlight-friendly content isn't anymore. Now it's pretty much just Dares and the Strike Playlist if you want to play PvE casually.

I only played it before it got popular, but it was really fun and actually had some good progression mechanics, better than Deep Rock Galactic imo. Farming drops with the boys was actually great.

As an ex-Apex addict that used Destiny to reform, it's a mixed feeling. Getting people away from Apex is good in my opinion, and Destiny has a lot of genuinely good stuff to offer, but Bungie are retarded and make the DUMBEST decisions sometimes. And Bungie put out balance patches way more than Respawn do. Respawn MIGHT do a minor weapon/champion balance every 3 months, but Bungie patches shit every week or two, some weeks twice. You'd think that'd be good, but Bungie is very prone to overcorrection in their hotfixes, and also prone to creating new bugs in the process.
Also Apex's PvP is generally better balanced than D2's is. Destiny 2 is very much a PvE game that has PvP in it. Bungie will clamp down on anything overly crazy, but PvP gets a backseat and is drip-fed content.

I got into destiny 2 in time for Bungie to delete all the expantions I bought. I hate it with the red hot intensity of a thousand suns, and no amount of "we promised to have changed" or even Selen will ever get me to play this for a single second.
