It's disgustingly dishonest.
The vast majority of successful vtubers are idols, idols are deeply intertwined in the medium.
This shit seems to have been made out of spite and contrarianism.
Almost every small corpo attempts some sort of idol path,even if it's a fake imitation of idols, an imitation of an imitation, it's still a form of idolfaggotry.
And the other bit is just peak lol, can't say if it's copium or deliberately misleading but vtubers have as many scandals and drama as any other online content creator, the only difference is that half of it is under an NDA and the vtubers themselves are heavily managed so it's harder and rarer for them to go off the rails and shit on each other openly as regular youtubers and twitch streamers do.
But as we've seen it clearly isn't enough to stop that shit. In part because the greater vtuber community is not corpo, and the audience is still open to drama, and even people outside the audience will drag drama into it. And even corpo talents can do all sort of drama behind the scenes like shitting on rival corpos, trying to own their haters by feeding them and showing how much they live rent free on their heads or conspiring to get a member they dislike kicked out. Or maybe the talents themselves trying to be political in some way, or even parasocial dynamics gone wrong like vtubers getting in private contact with whales.
