About 9 months I believe. I was done with the rough draft script in 3 months, but scripting (putting the rough draft into code) and staging (making sure all the assets go where they're supposed to) took surprisingly long. You think it's done when it's all written down, but then you end up having to essentially edit it twenty times over to make sure everything is just right. Eh, different strokes. Creates dramatic tension for the first I'm Pomu!
Renpy's pausing system is pretty weird. Soft pauses allow for accidental skipping of animations, which is a death knell for me since I rely choreography and assets being where they should be. My solution is just to use hard pauses and short animations. I almost never break that rule, unless I wanna do a little trollin' like with that scene and the Finana pudding part.
