the 12-core is a different socket and requires an entire motherboard upgrade to DDR5, whereas the 8-core is pretty much the best DDR4 build that can fit in my case for my budget.

Heart almost in the right place. Regardless of how you feel about being associated with the Internet Hate Machine /vt/ as a whole still sees 75,000 unique posts a day. That's a lot of viewers and eyeballs. Obviously those are generally here for their corporate oshis or established indies, but being from /here/ isn't really detrimental as long as you're able to at least mostly control revealing your power level. You don't have to and shouldn't pigeonhole yourself like Kiki, but having your finger on the pulse of what is arguably the best place on the Internet to discuss this form of entertainment is not all bad.
Another thing is, nobody should be mistaking /asp/ as a viewer farm. The vast majority of us here aren't viewers full time. Most are trying to build their own brand. What this thread /is/ good for is exchanging tips, resources, what works and didn't work, networking, etc. Self-posting is fine to let the other chuubas know you exist and hopefully make some contacts like the Gen4 youngins are doing now, but I would hope that none are making the mistake of relying on random tourists for views via self-post. There's some fine guides in the OP about marketing via some means, definitely should be exploring others. That means twitter, that means youtube shorts, that means stupid meme dances on the zoomer app. Whatever it takes to get eyeballs on your product that you should ALSO be constantly improving.

I've made this mistake in the past. Don't think of views from this thread as your own. When I first started posting here I'd get 7-10 viewers but the moment I decided to stop and migrate to wvt I went back to 2-3 ccv.

Unless you are playing something woth your honor on the line there's nothing bad about it. I usually go "ah fuck how did i not notice that, I'm definitely dumb for not finding that" or "wow this is kinda obscure, weird game design choice" i usually use this as a hook to talk about game design. "if i was the dev i'd probably would have done it differently or at least give the player a more clear hint"

depending on the situation of course, I'm very fair and don't feel bad about admitting defeat. Again don't think either way is bad for streaming. If you can make running in circles entertaining for an hour go wild. I prefer to address my failure and keep the pace for the sake of a conversation starter and to reduce frustration

It depends. Politics behind a PNG or similar aren't a new invention and typically are a means to avoid doxxing and harassment associated with placing a real face on your takes. I can think of a few that cropped up during the heyday of the "athiest debunking" crazy on youtube as well that do the same thing. Those at least in part because they took swipes at Islam and didn't want a bomb in their mailbox.

I agree that its not generally the sort of content that /vt/ is looking for, but its still not a foreign concept in PNGtubing.

im just putting a laptop in my backpack, use usb tethering from phone that doubles as the camera and an added webcam for tracking only. if i wanted picture quality I'd upgrade the setup to a DSLR camera, if i wanted to be more mobile I'd ditch the tracking for an action cam, but otherwise the process is the same. the only bottleneck you will have is reception depending on where you live. my phone has better internet than i have at home in 96% of the area in my country according to statistics so unless im not underground it will be fine.

I'm sticking to urban areas mostly because my content is just walks, but we have forest areas around that probably have reception. I'll have to try it as I go, it's trial and error unless you wanna test run your routes beforehand. There's also the option for multiple ISP coverage with the proper tools and cloud storage caching with obs but honestly I'm not willing to invest so much into something that 3 people are gonna watch. If the stream dies, then I'll accept that.

That's the obvious choice, but the live aspect is more fun for me, since my walks are half exploration i could actually go together with viewers and they could tell me where to go. I'm already watching recorded walk / asmr footage and just recording my own walks wouldn't necessarily be much of a step up. But if you do extreme sports or something like that you can record high quality footage as is and do a zatsudan "commentating" over it live or just throw it on yt if you want. the latter doesn't really benefit from the chuuba aspect though.

huh im "gen 3" and some of the people from /here/ have become genuine friends, even outside of streaming. I collabed with them, still talk to them and to this day and i see others interacting with each other on their streams too. Just because you don't watch them, doesn't mean they don't exist. Most of them don't come here anymore, but most of them are still streaming. In a way gen 3 was more of a slow boil for me because it took me some time to reach out to each of them individually.

I genuinely hope the new guys and gals here get along with each other, from my experience immediately opening a discord with 10+ people who don't know each other usually ends up in some kind of conflict. Streamers are individualists, most of them have a desire to be the star of their own show. The idea of genmates are usually reinforced by the corpos behind them. Again I don't see why it wouldn't work, from what I've seen the new guys are neat guys so here's hoping.
