/asp/ is a thread for vtubers to give and receive advice related to vtubing.

Why are you streaming in 540p, can't your connection handle 720p? Also that chat overlay is unreadable that resolution you might as well remove it.

Depends which crowd you mean. Trenders and the like won't give a shit unless you start pulling numbers and say literally anything that sets you apart from the dominant trender narrative. Presuming you're already prepared to receive hate from 12 year olds online with anything from calling you a pickme to trying to ironically unperson you, the only other issue is building an audience in the first place. So its obviously possible to do. The level of success is something else entirely.

Is being a furry a buff or debuff?
I'm a furry artist and could leverage my existing popularity to skip past the 0-10 views I think, but if in the long run it shoots me in the foot perhaps it would be better to struggle through the 0 view journey as a stranger with a new name.

I wouldn't actually use a furry vtuber model, I don't think they look very good, but I would use my existing name and advertise on my furry profiles

From what I have seen it seems to be a pretty consistent buff. It might cap your viewership in the very long run but so does vtubing compared to fleshtubing anyways. Unless you have the talent and personality to be a top top teir streamer I think it is more than worth it to to trade a bit of general appeal for the ability to start with more initial growth.

I think theres a real legitimate problem with people not wanting to join very small (sub 20 ccv) channels to avoid having a 'real' social interaction with the streamer. I assume 95% or more of viewers are either lurkers or they just spam kekw. Being one of three viewers takes away from this.
Unironically I think paying 20 people to just hang out at your stream gives you such a massive boost in popularity and clickability its unfair if you dont.
If twitch put in place an AI chat thing where you have 20 fake viewers that fake react to your content, people would join more indie streams.

Short answer no, long answer yes but...
There are a couple apps that can capture your motion with a single webcam and send it to vseeface but it can't be the same one you use for your face and it's pretty much impossible to set up.
It needs to be able to see you facing it from your head to toes meanwhile you have a desk and computer and mic blocking it. And normal webcams don't have that field of view. (I can try to find a program if you still want to play with it)

If you want to use trackers there are two categories, vive/tundra that use towers you install in your room or slime vr that uses acceleration to calculate movement (slightly less precise).
Slime vr is probably cheaper if you don't want to use a headset but vive or tundra are better investments long term.

What I'd recommend instead is making an idle animation or getting one off https://www.mixamo.com/ and playing it when you sing instead of capturing your motion.
But vseeface will capture it if you sway your body from side to side, also how much can you dance while singing? It's pretty hard yo!

It's already hard to set up your 3D stuff when it's your main model, you have to decide whether it's worth the headache for a karaoke stream. There are tools but it's not plug and play.
