This is never going to happen because people may be retarded but even a retard can tell that the people behind the "AI art will make traditional artists obsolete" push are spiteful misanthropes who hate them. People will always value human-made art because art is inherently worthless. Nobody wants to value an AI shat-out assembly-line product. It's the same reason why handmade crafts are still a viable market and sell for way more than factory-made goods.

People value human made products when they are better. AI assisted art will be more labor effective, and therefore provide more added value. Jobs that provide less value get phased out, and that's a hallmark of a functional society.

The smart artists will sell licences to use their style for commercial AI art. Those mega popular artists with gacha game companies lining up around the block to commission them for character art won't have to pick and choose which ones to fulfill with their limited time, they can just give them a model specifically trained on their own art and absorb the royalties and licensing fees. Artists crusading against AI art are short sighted and lack business acumen.

Anon is kinda right but not in that human art is inherently superior but that AI is incapable of thoughtful design.
Design >>>>> the handicraft of producing a well rendered picture.
It's the thought that matters but unironically. Art is a means to convey thoughts and emotions and AI art can't do that, therefore it cannot "design" anything. At best it would be scrambling together previous successful designs.

And you could argue that a human can pick and match pieces that the AI made into a design, but it that case it would be human art again, just made with a tool.
Humanity already had this argument more than 100 years ago on whether factory made things can be art. And the conclusion was that the thought and function of a piece is much more important in the definition of art than the total hand making hours that is put into it. Art is more than just the handicraft of making a picture or sculpture.

Stupid retard.
Codemonkeys will be replaced next. If AI can recreate artistic expression, there is absolutely nothing stopping it in the near future from writing endless blocks of text, 24/7, at x100000 your speed, 100% error free.

In fact coding is one of the easiest things to AI automate because it purely takea place in the computer, which an AI can have easy access to.
The hardest jobs to automate will be the ones that require a human to move from place to place and handle various objects while also having to apply knowledge or creativity.
Making the AI move around in a robot is unfeasible and even if it was it would be much more expensive than just hiring a human who doesn't need maintenance.
Unironically your plumber and electrician and construction worker will be less replaceable than your coder.

No there really isnt any "soul" to human made art
The only reason ai art is shit now is because its still far from perfect
We will reach a state where artists can just generate and redraw parts to exact specifications replacing their brush with a text box
Actually we are just as likely for the AI to learn enough about aesthetics and human taste to iterate and generate that shit all on its own

this, I'm laughing so hard seeing codemonkey act smug while their job is more prone to be replaced by fucking AIs than Artist/Construction Worker.
In Artist and Designer case, sure enough AI can speed their workflow or dish out art faster but one thing AI can't replace is capability to thinking or seek inspiration which 99% artist and designer did. AI will just scramble a prompt to create design but their flaw is they couldn't ''processing'' information from human imagination/inspiration/vision, which is much more COMPLEX than coding/calculation. and most artistic field job always involving on personal thinking, understanding human thought/needs and to do that you need to be able to empathize with human, which AI cant.
Hell, when you want to design a product that's functional and catered to what your audience needs, every artist needs to be critical thinker, problem solver, and capable of analyzing the audience on top with client feedback. that's too much information to process for AI which will require a hell a lot of money to develop such processor and require a long year of fucking research and training. even if in future they can do that they will not be used to create and generate art/design/entertainment but instead in more serious task like government glowie job and help researcher.

You will definitely see AI art in small indie stuff. Like a game made by 1-2 people, they can get pretty passable character designs and backgrounds quickly using AI and whatnot. The main issue with AI art though is that it's just boring and generic, it can't do really dynamic posing or expressions or virtually any abstract things.

>> No.44965177

I think the only people who defend AI art are unironic underaged coomers who are still horny enough that they can jerk off to some generic pin-up image of a girl just showing her tits and a blank expression. It's all boring shit, the only good stuff is when it fails and makes funny monstrosities.

I draw shit but the past few months all I do is use AI because it shits out coomer shit fast. Even found a lora for one of the street fighter artists that consistently makes fully rendered feet, 5 toes, toe nails, feet on the leg they're supposed to go on. But as an artist I can see how limited this shit still is. For a no art scrub it's like magic because they can get their ideas onto canvas with minimum effort, but as someone that actually draws, I want more control over what's being rendered. I want specific character designs and specific scenery and composition. The thing will only shit out an approximation. That being said I really want to make a Lora of my own art.
