I don't understand why doxxcords can be banned (which they should) by merit of cover saying so, but YT and other sites can reveal the association and systematically bring up their roomates. Yes, actually. No one at YT knows how the algorithm of their own site works. It's not because they're retarded, not entirely, though. It's been running and working so long that the algorithm has literally taken a mind of its own and it can't be comprehended from its actions.

Imagine the YT algorithm like a opaque box no one can see inside of, no matter what. Your data goes in the left side, something happens inside the box, and your algorithmically recommended videos come out the right side of the box. No one knows what goes on inside the box nowadays.

Being a blackbox doesn't give it a justification to run uncontrolled. The purpose of the algorithm is to make you watch more content. This is a case of content being recommended that isn't watched or even actively reported when seen by a certain group of people. The algorithm is adaptive enough to learn this. Thus it must recommend other content.
Then again, judging by this thread, it's not like everyone hates having their oshi's roomate thrown at them. So maybe the algorithm does its job right.
I suppose hardcoding doesn't work for the reason you explained, but as I said, it does filter, and I don't think that's a process beyond the ability of human comprehension, and it's definitely testable.
