So I have been messing around with Dynamic CFG Scaling, and honestly, it's really good.

I feel like its completely changed how my model is listening to me without sacrificing on the actual quality of the image. Pic related is a good example of a hires fix image.

The extensions tab in the webui has it. Look for dynamic thresholding.Or go here: https://github.com/mcmonkeyprojects/sd-dynamic-thresholding

As for using it, it will add another tab to your generation pages on txt2img and img2img, and you can mess with settings there. Once that is done, you can set your CFG Scale to something significantly higher than normal, and set the mimic cfg scale to where you normally want it (or even a little lower), you should be good to go.

And Pic related is an upscale of the previous image I posted using SD Ultimate Upscale, which is like hires fix on steroids.

there is no use to mixing preprocessor and model. the models only accept very specific inputs and you'll ruin your images if you mix them. for example if you ran a picture of a girl through openpose preprocessor it would give you a rainbow colored stick figure and not the shades of gray that depth could work with

You're right. I did it once when it happened, lost the small amount of gens so I cut my losses, but this time there were 400, so I wanted to try to recover them. SINCE GOOGLE IS SO NICE ENOUGH TO GIVE YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKEAWAY DATA WHEN THE ACCOUNT GETS DISABLED, BUT IN REALITY ITS A BLANK FUCKING ZIP WITH NOTHING IN IT, DESPITE CLEARLY ME HAVING UP TO 700MBS STORAGE IN THAT DRIVE. But again 400 gens is nothing compared to multiple accounts. If it happens again I wont bother going for such a gamble again.

Ah yeah, definitely been in that situation myself too with composing music, felt the need to incorporate motifs and subgenres that I knew would "hook" those I showed it to, rather than the more "pure" ideal I had in mind originally.
It's a tough balance to maintain.

I hate recommending this, since I would hate doing it myself, but I think the best solution might be to use AI art as an inspiration, but never disclose it. Hell, even if you trace over it, as long as you don't replice AI errors you should be golden, but that's speaking as a non-drawfag so dunno how tough that becomes.
This would however require you to be disingenuous, which might take a different toll in the long run, and could even give you imposter syndrome.

Idk man, it's a bit of a tight spot, but in my experience people are 50/50 at recognizing AI generated art, so I don't think real hand-drawn art based on AI generated compositions would realistically be spotted.

Mate I was showing a few of my buds some of the stuff I've been generating, after talking about AI generated art - DURING THE CONVERSATION ABOUT AI ART, and they didn't fucking realize it was AI generated. Until one of them stopped me a dozen images in to say "wait, this is shit you made with it?!"

Meeting and surrounding yourself with the correct people are also important. If you really want to improve, asking friends or another artists how to improve this part and that part of your art is super important.

Make separate account for your AI works if necessary.
If you integrate AI into your drawing process just don't tell anyone.

I can't draw for shit, I tried to, I even have an old tablet but man it is hard, difficult and time consuming. With the power of AI I can make my imagination ideas come to life and I'm so glad. I can make X in Y setting and I don't want to ask for more. The models have improved so drastically over this short period of time, we went from goodshit model(which was one of the first vtuber oriented models merged with nai model) to the whatever the fuck grapefruit, counterfeit ultra mix. Picreal - some new creamsicle model idk.
People hate AI art because it treads on their own skill. A new artist has nowhere the capability of drawing the way AI does, thus breeding jealousy. I would be the same if I stuck with drawing probably lol. But once an artist passes a threshold of developing their own style/learning anatomy etc. They surpass the ai because they dont have to fuck with RNG hands and other oddities.
I'm deeply thankful for what I have right now and all the people who have contributed to making SD as openly available as possible.

It's been like that ever since Midjourney and Stable Diffusion existed, a giant Among Us game. Just need to get used to it, tanking all the badmouths.
They will believe whatever they want to believe but at the end of the day what's important, for me at least, is that I can scream proudly with clear conscience that "I MADE THIS!" for all the arts I draw with my own hand.

Like I said in my replies, I'm in the same situation as you, and AI helped jumpstart my creative juices again. Heck, I was able to dust off my drawing monitor just to make some fixes to some of my gens so I can inpaint them. To me, AI is a tool, a tool best used to its fullest.

I also have friends in artist circles who are vehemently against AI art, but they always were the more idealistic types. What they don't realize is that we humans have always been inventing and making things to make life easier for us, with the old always having to make way for the new. It's the same story when craftsman were complaining about machines taking their jobs and sucking out the "soul" of their creations. And it's happening again here, with AI art.

There will be backlash, yes. As there always has been for each new invention. Give it time and they'll all slowly disappear. AI is here to stay, whether we like it or not. It's better for you to take advantage of this new tech now rather than be left behind.

I draw for fun, not for a living, and continue to post and develop my own skills independently of my ai gens. Art is so fun to make to me I will never feel inferior to AI because it doesn't matter to me, as the act of creation is enough for me.

I keep genning and it helps me keep my creative juices flowing even when I don't have time to draw. I post my AI gens on a separate pixiv dedicated to ai art, with clear tagging, and a totally different username. It's unwise to involve your artist life and ai-prompting life given the artist community's popular opinion on it, for good reason(people losing commissions, etc)
