-His team doesn't use all 21 points since his teammates are worth 6 and 4 points. They're both girls
-He's meeting one of his teammate for the first time and is familiar with the other one. They're from different agencies
-Rikka's birthday is on the vsaikyo day, Astel asked and got permission to overlap it since vsaikyo is a big deal
-He originally planned to participate with Fuma and Gamma when he received the invite in February. There was a lot of talk with management, and they agreed it'd be good for Astel to get involved with the outside more
-He'll ask management to shift the work Fuma has for vsaikyo so he can participate (don't get your hopes up though, just included it because it was cute)
-He's got a lot of work and wants to release two orisongs this year
-He'll participate to a League of Leon this week and focus a lot on Apex to get back in the groove, especially in April

I'm really curious if his manager was just not aware how big of an opportunity Vsaikyou is. Looking back on the kind of jobs Holostars usually get, I wouldn't say any of them would give Fuma more exposure/growth than Vsaikyou. Astel wasn't actually free himself, he said he had to rearrange his schedule and his manager always helps him shift work if he needs to.

I'm also curious if Fuma felt like he had an obligation vs what he wanted, even if he says he's happy with the job opportunity.

Without going too much into specifics it follows the mid-to-late 2010's fighting game philosophy of removing "complexity" to reduce the skill floor, but in turn it actually only reduced the ceiling by removing most of what kept the game unique while barely making a dent on the actual skill floor. It was a practice that was started by Capcom with Street Fighter V and a bunch of the big fg devs followed suit, with ArcSys and Strive being possibly the biggest example of it to the point some people joke that the game is the SFV of anime fgs. Ironically SF6 is going the complete opposite direction and it's possibly the most complex game in the series if we only compare the vanilla versions, and Bamco is also doing something similar with Tekken 8 by giving each character unique mechanics that weren't present in past games. There's also some highly questionable lore stuff that I won't go too deep into but it also contributes to the overall controversial nature of the game. The only thing that Strive has going is it's actual godlike netcode but that's marred by the godawful Amazon servers that can make connecting an actual pain, and the game also has piss poor single player content that is barely better than release SFV which makes me wonder if people only hyped that game because it had a beyond working netcode in the middle of the pandemic.

It's a combination of bandwagon syndrome and the social aspect. The only good thing ArcSys had done in the past 4-ish years was update the most recent versions of all of their games to rollback. I genuinely expected that they would never put rollback on Xrd or take an eternity before doing it but it actually came out pretty fast.
