What is /asp/?
/asp/ is a thread for vtubers to give and receive advice related to vtubing.

>Can I self post?
Self posting is allowed as long as it's for asking for feedback or starting out, there are other threads for self promotion.

>Should I stream on Twitch or YouTube?
Most people would recommend against streaming on YouTube if you don't have an established subscriber base from making videos.

>Is there an audience for X?
Would you watch someone do X?
Is someone already doing X?

Its hard to tell you what to do if we don't know what you are currently doing, but here are a few common ideas.

1. Stream more. Its difficult to grow if you don't stream enough.
2. Use ticktok/youtube shorts to advertise yourself. These two platforms are practically tailor made for the growth of small and unknown creators and quick growth is very possible. View these platforms as gambling for exposure. Its very random how much well a tiktok/short will do but its free so keep on trying because the rewards are potentially pretty big. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket that you want to throw at vtubing hiring an editor to make clips/shorts might be the most effective way to spend it beyond using it for streaming equipment/vtuber model.
3. Collab and get to know/network with other people, the bigger the better. The biggest asp female success stories in the last year pretty much got to where she is now because she was able to collab and get raided by many different chuubas that were bigger than her. It might feel scummy to do this, but it is easily the fastest way to get large amounts of exposure fast. If you don't want to leech off of others then collabing with same sized or smaller vtubers also works to a lesser degree.

>> No.44381671

>>44381524
I'd say 1 isn't true. Plenty chuubas in 300-400 range while streaming 9 hours a week. Nina is one.

I’m always skeptical about this one because every streamer I know that has a successful TikTok usually has a ridiculously inflated twitch following. Just look at ugubear’s or shizukou’s channel. Most successful vtubers I know got popular through literally anything else other than TikTok like Twitter or YouTube. Some exceptions are Filian since her content appeals to zoomers and her shorts are literally just cuts of her streams.

Im basing the advice of "stream more" on ClioAite, an aspie, who admittedly was only here for a very short time, that started from zero and got to 100+ ccv in a frankly amazing 4-5 months. Pretty much the only notable thing about her was that she streamed an insane 150-200 hours a month. In most other respects she was kind of below average in my opinion, voice slightly below average, model is ok at best, general streaming skills (reacting to chat, minimizing dead are, just being funny/interesting in general) were kind of bad. But holy shit she streams a lot.

If she excelled at anything it was meeting and befriending large vtubers. She got so many huge raids early on that helped her massively. Though a large part of the reason she was able to get so many raids was because she streamed as much as she did. You cant receive a raid if you aren't streaming after all.

There is some truth to this of course, not all followers translate into ccv at the same rate. Even if their ccv is kind of low considering how much popularity they have on other platforms, I would still bet that they are far better off having gained success on tiktok/youtube than had they spent their time doing other things.

Honestly I see no negatives at all to having an inflated follower count. Even if you have a far below normal ccv/follower ratio (something like 1-3% is generally considered normal), it is still better than not having those followers at all and in some cases can be used to great effect. In particular dead followers can quickly turn into temporary ccv for big events and new blockbuster game releases.

Contact with other tubers should be for content or for networking. You're not looking to build a circlejerk of self-viewing channels because that gets you nowhere and its good you noticed that up front.

The other thing that aspies are allergic to is diversifying their platforms. Mostly because doing it is work. You don't have to dual stream to two services at the same time or anything. Just post vods and clips of your shit to youtube and/or twitter. You have to show people that you have a thing they want before they'll ask you for it. Some channels drive 90% of their first time engagement off of just spamming youtube shorts with even basic editing. The upshot is, Youtube actually has an algo that drives discovery so you'll likely at least be seen by somebody. What matters at that point is whether what you're showing is something people want to see, but at least you're not literally talking to an empty room.

Is it anyone who started here? Even if they took advice from it, maybe self posted once and then dipped?
Is it people who come here to self promote?

Not that anon, but I'm not sure what your point is. This is for aspiring vtubers. If some achieve success and leave, move to other threads or join corpo it's not a failure or own against the thread. It's the thread having served the purpose for which it exists. If others don't make it after a year then maybe they should reconsider their strategy and that's fine too. I don't see how any of this is an own against anyone, success isn't going to be the same for everyone.

most of her streams last week had like 15 views
new people find her, she gains views and it drops down to 15-20 again because she exclusively panders to here. Still better than most people here but it's clearly a debuff and she'd be a 3view if she wasn't pandering to 4chan. Though her being a menhera and the extreme jealousy/GFE thing are probably bigger debuffs
The main appeal of /here/tubers is that they know the image board culture, you can just shitpost with them and talk about otaku stuff most normalfags wouldn't know about. You can do that without being the 4chan vtuber. You can't really do that with Kiki because of how jealous and menhera she is, when interacting with her you have to be more careful and watch what you say. And even then she seems to think being /here/ means crying about not having sex, acting like a retard and making racist/tranny jokes in public, it's like she doesn't realize she's not actually anonymous. She just feels like a combination of /pol/ and /r9k/ rather than an actual 4chan chuuba. So I guess it's possible for a 4chan vtuber to be successful if they avoid those mistakes.

Not the people spending (wasting) money from their min wage cuck job on a vtuber model just to sit down and entretain a handful of people (I guess 10 viewers is technically "2view" right?) and trying to convince themselves its an investment and it'll payback itself someday, when you know deep down you'll be stuck in NGMI territory until you eventually have to accept the fact its not gonna happen and quit, wether that happens in a year, 5 or 10, the sooner you do, the better. I'm sure your parents are so proud of you.
When you eventually go offline for the last time, and never hit "go live" again, because you have to get a real job or a new fad has showed up that you wanna latch on to now, I hope you remember this comment and it haunts you when you're in your 40s thinking about how you wasted your youth with this shit.

It's impossible to pander to the whole site, half of the boards hate anime and thinks it's for trannies. Some boards are just infested with normalfags and election tourists and they aren't a part of the 4chan culture anymore. And pandering to the site as a whole doesn't make any sense because they don't and won't watch vtubers.
And Kiki isn't even trying to do that, she's not even trying to pander just to /vt/, she's pandering only to her thread. You can't talk about other vtubers, or even anime, because she gets jealous. She doesn't know much about vidya or movies so she can't talk about those either. The only pandering she does is making edgy jokes and saying she's also a lonely virgin like (You). So her streams just end up being her saying "I love you so much, what if we had sex haha" and making jokes about trannies killing themselves

Not at all.

Based on my follower numbers male, 600 followers, I have about a 2% viewer rate. It's not great, but it's within standard figures (FallenShadow peaked yesterday at around 6%, and has a 30 day of around 1.5%; Bodega 30 day is around 2.5%, Mako at around 4%).
Of the last 350 messages in chat, there's 27 users. Removing bots and myself there's 23 users, 272 messages. Mean of 12, Median of 5 - I have three users that massively sqew it.
Of those 23 users, 7 are subscribed (of 35 total subs), and only one bought theirs, the rest are gifted.

The ones who do give money, tend to be those who throw 100 bits or less at you, and rarely. But I have three or four viewers who semi regularly drop 10+ subs for the sake of it, and one who will always drop a sub to start a hype train if it's on warning.

The majority of your viewers will not be willing to pay you. The majority of those that pay will get you around $2 per month. The messages are more important, because they'll be watching, and give you content.
