A project is only worthwhile when its fun bros, I'll write when I find it fun and i think others will too. It ain't very fun rn, and I am having more fun hanging out with people from here honestly. I had a lot of fun playing War in the East II with Zai today, so maybe we are taking this too much to heart about everything.

The new server also isn't gatekept, anyone is allowed. It is just fixing a problem that the last one had where it got flooded. I feel bad it makes you feel uneasy, but i think that there is a lot of distrust amongst a lot of people, now and in the past, that might come from just not simply apologizing for fucking up, or whatever. If i am honest, the worst thing this project ever had was all the accusing that has happened. I wish we could go back and not do that, because that shit is like poison that can eat at ya.

Plants are surprisingly adaptable. Most stars produce light that would let a plant go through photosynthesis. Blue stars above A-class would tend to produce too much UV, but below that most of them would do the trick, it's mostly a question of orbiting in the habitable zone.
Some difficult plants might have trouble, but some versatile crops would have good odds if given fertilized soil.

A plant's root will gravitate towards where the soil and water is. On Earth the soil is down. In space soil can be in any direction if you don't have good gravity. So plants need to adapt to having more active roots. I think after even decades of hydroponics a crop would be bred to have more resiliant roots. In /nasa/'s case we're talking at least a few thousand of years of evolution minimum.

In general just the specific features that were mentioned, like how the plants have adapted to shrink away during highstorms to avoid being torn out of the ground or how they have shells, how settlements have shelters in place for highstorms, and how nature as a whole has adapted to its coming and going. I think a storm as powerful as a highstorm would have a similar effect, bring up the earth and throwing shit around at such intensities might not drop crem but I don't think it could just be left alone as any regular hurricane either necessarily. I guess I should research how animals and plants typically deal with heavy winds

I'd say it really depends on the colony but I'd assume they'd have been able to bring their knowledge of animal breeding with them throughout the centuries, potentially even towards the biological engineering of specific feed animals. I can see industrialized production being the main stay of /ag/ since having entirely "fresh" animals can become an issue quickly when factoring in what they will eat when you're a floating colony in deep space that also needs to have enough food to feed the ships that pass by for restocks. I can see fresh food being more of a luxury item to purchase, in the deep dark of space I'd imagine that the taste of pure fresh meat might become a longing that many will fork over a buck or two to get.
