Not the OP but I just recapped the thing. I agree with you that it's pretty unlikely, the guy in this stabbing didn't really have any known obsession to the group or idols. Some vtubers have done in-person meet-n-greets at cons so I guess there's a vector.

I don't recall what happened but there was an instance where a guy tracked a girl posting things online via the reflection in her eyes that showed what train she was boarding. Regardless this is unlikely to happen in vtubing because 99% of meetings are done virtually.
