Hey so, putting a name on for this. Letting everyone know that the 4th VT Cup is this weekend.

We're too late to join League 4 but that gives us plenty of time to get set up for League 5. I'm willing to manage or assist anyone else who feels capable of management but what we also need are the rest of the components of a team to properly represent /asp/.

That means players (and player aesthetics), uniforms, goal horns, intro and outro music, etc. If you've ever watched the 4CC in its 20 odd years of life you already know what we're after. Anyone with experience with blender/PES21 modding is greatly appreciated as well. Feel free to suggest player names, design ideas, music choices, goal horns, etc below. There's no real time limit or rush on this yet since, as mentioned, we're already too late for the one going down at the moment but the League runs two tournaments a year so we've got a few months to get things in order.

A couple ground rules for suggestions apart from what the wiki page already mentions if we really want to reference somebody specific, instead of using their chuuba name or a proper name, choose a descriptive but recognizable title that matches their custom player model instead. And obviously anything else that won't get us rejected by the organizer or banned off the streaming platform.

Yes, but you need to get your work out there and curate an audience / client base. Bonus points if you actually put the practice in. (For rigging, look up Himono's live2d tutorials and resources if you want to practice head-turns, for instance. You might want to try it once or twice with the same model and find a comfortable range for you to start from. She also has good tutorials for art)
You're more likely to get clients paying good money if you have the skill to show for it, but there is a market for lower quality rigging and art for prices that are more in a budget tier.
Advertising and getting clients through the Live2D discord server is a good start
It's entirely possible to live off of it! Make sure to have a safety net, though.

Don't join fiverr, from what I've heard, they take a high percentage of your sales. You can do everything through Squareup or paypal (squareup allows you to not have to take clients personal information so that's what I usually prefer)
If you're above average at art, I would recommend starting with selling model art only and specializing in that! You can practice rigging in your own time using the models you make. If you haven't made a Live2D model before, it'll be key to learn how to make one. An amount of the jankiness seen in corporate models comes from corporations hiring illustrators with not enough Live2D model art experience, despite being good artists. It takes a bit to learn.
Specialization is usually recommend among most people in the live2d artist / live2d rigging community! Focusing on both right away can hinder your growth in any single area. There are a few exceptions of people who are absolutely exceptional in both fields (such as cillia), but that comes with a lot of time and practice poured into everything. If you focus on model art now, you can slowly learn rigging as time moves forward, and it'll be easier for you to get good practice in and get more sales and raise your prices as you improve. You'll have a higher client turnaround because you won't be stuck on the same model for a longer period of time, and in turn you'll have more advertising for your work as people use their models.
Practicing rigging could help you learn how to separate things better. I'm lucky that I get to work closely with the person who rigs most of my model art, and because of that, I've been able to learn better separation habits.
Doing operations through twitter has helped me a lot, but I was streaming for about a year beforehand so that helped me gain a clientele. The Live2D discord is where I notice a majority of people find new clients. Once you're good enough, you'll likely get a few apps everytime you open commissions and be able to close commissions within a week!

I made my own model for streaming and did occasional art streams, and that got me a few of my first clients! A portion of my viewers were clients looking forward to getting a model. Some of my to-be clients became viewers as they were waiting for comms to open. I also got some from just through my twitter 'commissions are open' posts with model examples! Similar to how tattoo artists are sometimes, you get clients through word of mouth occasionally, since people using your models is like advertising. You'll get their viewers likely coming to you for models if they're searching the market!
I work a lot with a specific rigger that uses my model art in his showcases (since I drew his model), and that would get me some more clients too.
Have you put together an example sheet and cast your net out to see if you get anyone applying yet?

I may have given the wrong idea. 99% of the team shouldn't be just vanity self-promotion slots for random particular aspies. The team is the board not the posters. Look at some of the other /vt/ teams or even /vt/'s 4CC team. Most of the players are just various board culture memes. For example:

Alright, following up on these and adding a little bit of additional detail since the wiki kinda hides things a bit.

The whole team is 19x normal players with middling stats, 2 "Silver" players with good stats and 2 "Gold" players with 99 stats. Medals cannot be GK but can play any other position. We can have up to two GK on the roster and should have two so we don't get fucked by random conditioning.

Ah right yeah, I have an interface that has Direct Monitoring, I guess Ill use that one. I was hoping Id be able to hear the reverb as I sing but I guess thats too much, since fiddling with Voicemeeter just ended up with lots of crackling and headaches. Ill just stick to this then, thanks a lot!
