The reason Twitch is going down is because the big streamers fucked the platform over more than even the hot tub streamers.
They actively grabbed all of the viewers which led to a situation where there were a few people with huge amounts of viewers by youtube/other platform standards,people with a large amount like 4k to 10k, then everyone else is 2views to low 3views.
They also kept intentionally pushing the DMCA and other copyright laws which brought companies down on Twitches heads. This plus the above made twitch lose sponsors which they then tried to make the money back by putting in more Ads which was dumb and made a feed back loop which drove fans away.
Then you have the fact that the top streamers collude together to either keep other streamers they didn't like from growing (they tried this with Adin a few years back) or to constantly funnel fans between eachother which stopped other people from getting fans. And because they're colluding they have been abusing their chats or forcing hugboxes since they won't ban you on their channel. But every single channel of any remotely large streamer effectively meaning if you do or seemingly do something they don't like then you need to make a new account.
Finally all of the streamers have a huge amount of Sexual Assault, Scam, and other fucked up drama which drove more people off.
Twitch is still strong but it has begun to lag because they failed to stop some of their streamers from forcing a monopoly which is detremental to both them, the viewers, and the other streamers.

They're bannable offenses but as I said. The streamers made a monopoly before they started doing this. So majority of the money twitch actually makes come from a minority that if they try to enforce then the others will jump to their defense and either weaponize their fans or leave thereby making them lose so much money it wouldn't be worth it. A rock and a hard place situation.
And yes it is also criminal. Several of these big streamers have gone missing from the internet after being caught grooming minors, sexually assaulting either fans or smaller streamers and in some cases what could be considered borderline if not outright rape.
Even then Twitch has been trying to crack down the streamers as they outright kicked some off the platform like Dr disrepect who was live streaming a public bathroom and others who scammed their fans out of money. But it has led to backlash since his fellow top streamers started leaving or sicking their fans on twitch.
Though I will admit Twitch has done some stupid stuff and don't always enforce their bans properly. But a lot that tended to depend on who was a big streamer and who was minor.
