Not necessarily sure what the point is. They already get free publicity from clippers that want to draw viewers, and as far as Amelia goes there are a million things to clip. The only thing I can think of is that Hololive doesn't like not having control over the images of the talent, and wants to put up stuff that makes them look a certain way. I guess that could work if they are thinking that they want to tailor the clips to attract a new kind of audience?

Ame and Mori are flanderized to hell and back with the toxic gremlin and dad thing. Even if Ame is the sweetest girl in the world 95% of the time, clippers will only focus on the 5%, slap a lewd thumbnail and people will think thats all there is to her personality.
Believe it or not, most people don't watch full streams, they only watch a few clips everyday. I can see why Ame and Mori would want stream highlights to crackdown on leech channels.
The point is, short 3-6 minutes clips attract more views than a 4-6 hours stream, and that will barely affect the amount of live viewers because these people won't simply stop watching live streams and only go for these short clips.
By doing that, She gets a new audience that wants micro content with the most relevant parts of each stream and pulls more people to her channel.

There's nothing wrong with the traits themselves. However, it becomes a problem when that trait swallows up their entire character, in the eyes of their average viewer. There's a specific term for this that I can't think of off the top of my head, but it's kind of similar to when Ina got her new outfit, and her entire chat was nothing but forehead jokes until she told them they were already old. It makes sense that Watson and other chuubas may want to have some control over what of their content is clipped and how it presents them, so they don't get pigeonholed into those restrictive stereotypes.This should help improve the quality of the chat, so that clipfags have a better understanding of the chuubas character and don't shit it up by spamming gremlin/dad memes that had grown stale months ago regardless of what's actually happening in the stream.

That all sounds good in theory but I honestly think they're 8 months too late here, with regard to flanderization (that's the word). Jokes like that have fully taken hold, and there are already clips of Amelia out there representing her in another light. Most of the comments underneath them treat the clip as surprising or, worse, uncharacteristic and inauthentic, every time. It's really hard to change a widespread perception like that.
The girls should still go through with this idea in order to direct traffic to their own channels instead of some clipfag's shit, of course.

Yeah that would be cool. There was a channel a few years ago called Cow Chop and i loved how they did their thumbnails. They had different type of videos (gameplay, live action stuff, behind the scenes, special shows) and each of them had one specific color background, you could tell what the video was going to be about just at a glance and without even looking at the title.

Color coding would be the best bet imo.

I was never into Funhaus, i'm glad about it looking at what they are now. Cow Chop house / early warehouse were the best. Off Canny is actually pretty good but they upload like once a year but i'm okay with it, i'm not an "everything has to be a show and have an schedule" autist.

There isn’t really much keeping them from off collabing now if they really wanted to. I’m a NEET who doesn’t get out much, but I know several people who are flying around all over the country like nothing is amiss. And I’m pretty sure they’ve both taken plane trips recently. At least Ame has.
As for streams, karaoke would obviously be one of them. They’d also probably do a watch along of something. And they’d play some offline multiplayer games like maybe some of the old Mario Partys. Ame mentioned playing It Takes Two in an off collab, but that sounds like a waste seeing as they could just play it online and the experience would mostly be the same.
I’d imagine off collabs would be a yearly thing, twice yearly at best. I’m pretty sure they live on opposite ends of the country. Yeah, this is a confusing bit that I'm pretty sure is not perpetuated by any actual fan of GurAme or InAme or whatever, just falseflaggers or Twitter-tier /u/fags.
