Lack of synergy. Seriously, these genmates just don't click together that well.

Gura would rather hangout with her SNOT clique.
Mori has better chemistry with Irys and Bae.
Ina is off in her own world.
Kiara had a bond with Mori for a while, but that died.
Ame and Gura also had a bond, but that's dead too.

All of the above.

People like Mori and Kronii don't give a fuck about Hololive and use it to actively funnel people to their RM accounts. Kronii is talking to her regulars on her RM and they aren't even bothering to use different accounts.

Management being gay means events live or die on the initiative from the girls which means a lot of it falls on LA CREATIVEADAD, which can work for a while, see Halloween, 1 year, Christmas, etc, but ultimately you need corporate resources to take that next step, which is why the 3D showcase after all this time just feels late and underwhelming.

Lack of chemistry means if the introverts are feeling down or out of it, it's up to Mori or Kiara to drive big collabs, which is hard because collabs are a team sport and people will get sick of Kiara and Mori is just a retard in the first place. See most recent collab, the announcement.

The Tempus bullshit was just stupid, alienating a core part of your fans, and even normalfags are wondering why you have 2 Homofag gens while most weeks we struggle to have streams everyday despite there being 10 EN members.

Pic related was the last time I felt any enthusiasm for EN.

>> No.43179635

Not really a downfall per se but I think there is a noticeable drop in quality. I think in large part it's because there's way too much freedom given to the talents to do roommate stuff in hololive. 3/5s of Myth constantly shill their roommates and it just strikes me as almost kinda rude.
Myth also don't even collab anymore unless management forced them to. Not to mention the fact that people like gura take frequent breaks without even telling her chat is a bit awful imo. The gura today doesn't even feel like the gura who came in with an "A" and sang Ride on Time.
Outside of myth though, council feels like chickens running around with their heads cut off half the time and the gen is heavily carried by fauna and mumei since Kronii honestly couldn't care less about hololive and bae just kinda seems to be there.

Not to mention the lack of resources that actually get pumped into council, they honestly should have had their 3d debut by now but instead we're revealing the same shit we've already seen for like a year now but "this time it's official!"

Distance makes it impossible to form real bonds for most people. There are the few who cope and cling to their internet circles because they have nothing else, but most people need face to face interactions. With Myth being spread across the world and the few that are withing 3-4 hour flight distance refusing to interact with each other, the 'bond' that other JP gens have will never manifest.
Gura's constant fear of being found will never let her truly break down the wall she's built up. People say it's rational, but the JP talents both have more attention on them via their general populous, and they have a much closer proximity to the talents, meaning it would take a lot more effort for some anti to do something retarded to Gura than it would for the average JP anti.
Mori is an interesting case. Generally doesn't do very much with the JP side of things while also living in Japan. Therr was that meme that she couldn't speak Japanese to save her life, which is bullshit. I think she just generally wants to do her own thing and with her side gig eating up a lot of time over the past 2 years, her only real grounded attachment to Holo was Kiara at the start and Irys now. I think if she were in Texas instead of Japan, we would have seen her flying around to meet everyone except Kiara if they were willing to have her.
If Kiara were still living in Japan, she'd probably be closer to what Reine is for her branch, mostly EN, partly JP. She'd be interacting with other JP gens and getting along well with lots of banter because she modeled her streaming style after them. It's the same reason she went so hard with the TakaMori, she saw various JP senpai do it and copied them.
Ame is Gura, but to a lesser extreme. Relativelt reclusive, she likes to keep to herself and focus on her mino-projects. Sometimes it manifests into something larger like the smoll and low-poly streams with the rest of Myth, but I think she's gotten tired of taking the helm for bigger event collabs and has fully backed off from that roll. It's why we see less unity collabing in general for Myth.
Ina is a weird one. She's obviously here for the fun of streaming and chatting with others, but because it's a side thing she more often than not waits for others to initiate and then accepts offers instead of putting herself out there. This leads to a lot of solo content because Gura and Ame both are content just sitting solo in their streams and Kiara took a more backseat/passive approch lately because she feels like she's 'bothering' the others. On top of that, her other work makes it much harder to just drop everything and travel like Fauna, Mori, or sometimes Mumei can pull off.
All in all, it's not bad to have members of the branch who want to do their own thing, but when it's a quarter of the entire branch, you can really feel it. I think that's why people are clamering for EN3, it's because they should be able to do that and not hamper others who want to create that fun group atmosphere. There are JP who stay to themselves, JP who collab every week, and everything in between because there are a lot more members on the JP side, so the lack of interaction by some is felt much less than it is on the EN side.

>> No.43186468

>>43185352
EN3 just makes sense to revitalize interactions between members. Some people have this strange idea that more girls = less attention given to your oshi leading to her decline. Which is completely a shit take unless your oshi was an oshit in the first place.

Even the most bonded JP gen to have ever existed, 3rd gen, would be completely lacking if they could and would only interact within each other. Flare for example would never have broken out of the image as Noel's gf if it wasn't for her interactions with Polka to later form Shiranui Kensetsu and form this whole genuine interaction.

It's simple math, more girls = more chances for certain girls to find people they actually gel with, not fake being best friends just because their company decided to debut them at the same time.

>> No.43186572

>>43186468
It's so fucking dumb. Not to mention that with an EN3, people might come back to check them out and either get hooked for the first time or rehooked if they left. I will never ask for a Niji release schedule and I'd also never drop my Oshi, but I really wish they'd be a little quicker about it.

>> No.43187536

>>43156813
Not striking when the iron was hot and getting EN3 months and months ago was a big part of it. Releasing TWO gens of males that a minority of the fanbase wanted at a time people were desperate for more coverage/collab options was another huge mistake.

I have to say though, I have always suspected that perms autism and the stifling need to get everything approved through management is what is really to blame for sucking the fun out of the job and causing burnout. From what the girls have said about management they can be torturously slow at getting back to them, Ame mentioned multiple months going by before hearing back about something she wanted to do - can you imagine as a creative person getting an idea for a stream/project then having to put it to one side whilst it gets a full fucking risk assessment by JP upper management? It is enough to make you not even want to try to do anything but play the next kusoge you have the perms for.

There is not guarantee that even after something is approved they won't jump in at the last moment to cut it up/change their mind as Guras Birthday illustrates, she had something completely different planned for that but management forbid it at the last second and they had to rush Kanauru to put together that live last minute. They also cut her actual 3d live down by almost half according to her own words.

Nobody wants them to be react streamers or anything but the fact they can't even show a dumb meme here or there because of copyright autism is something I guess JP talents have learned to live with but must feel incredibly stifling for a western content creator.
All of this might have been remedied if they could really throw themselves into the things they CAN do under cover, 3D projects in the studios, idol activities, cool shit the JP get up to like legend of polka but unfortunately the infrastructure and staff just isn't there on the EN side, and the talents are scattered across multiple continents. They have had all of the restrictions of being in hololive but up until this point when they FINALLY got to Japan almost none of the support or exciting positives, I just hope it isn't too little too late to motivate them all again.

What are you going to do if someone you know is a fan approches you at a con and asks for pictures? Say no and shut everyone out, possibly risking schizo behaviour to get what they want, or just say 'yeah sure, but don't be retarded'?

I mean, the girls can't really help having a life outside of Hololive, and it's not like a chuuba has to go into hiding just because someone finds out their secret identity.

Permissions are a pain in the ass, sure, but it's not like the talents are scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to making content that's allowed within their reach, even with the current management.
However, the last paragraph is entirely correct and has surely caused the market share loss of HoloEN. What the branch has lacked (and will lack, since now they can just invite them to Japan for anything) was a hefty reinvestment towards a new base of operations, studio included, outside of Japan.
Hololive's main draw is undoubtedly their 3D content. Everybody talks about the birthday live shows, the sololives, 3D programs and the like, it keeps interest in the company. When Myth debuted with flying colors, no one doubted that they will stand on the same stage as their senpais. However, Cover bet on the wrong horse with the coof restrictions and figured EN will just travel to Japan in 2021 once they are lifted to do their 3D programs. The lift of restrictions didn't come until a year and a half later. This delay, with CouncilRyS piling up additionally, caused a ton of problems with keeping up interest with the audience, and after Gura's and Kiara's not so successful attempts at making their own 3D projects, many people gave up on expecting hype content out of HoloEN.
If Cover decides otherwise and sets up a new base of operations (in NA, most likely) when they saw Myth's success, they could have been done by the time IRyS debuted at the latest and keep up interest. Furthermore, they could have put EN management as well there, avoiding the awkward meetings because of the JP timezones. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they didn't want to debut EN3 when the pioneers are still lacking their 3D debuts, so with having that under their belt, we could have them by now.

Destroyed a LOT of momentum by not releasing EN3.

One more thing:
Not only EN would have benefitted from a separate studio, but ID as well, as they also had to wait for their debuts until late last year. It would have also encouraged EN and ID to form even stronger bonds, raising interest for them as well in the process.

The problem is that Japanese companies don't want to invest any money into making a studio in America, realistically speaking if you opened up an American subsidiary and studio not only would you no longer require a passport/visa to do anything in Japan (which means that it's way easier to get people to the studio) but you could also throw en under the en subsidiary and suddenly you don't have to deal with Japanese autism preventing you from playing games on stream
