There's an old rule of thumb in improv & live comedy called "yes, and" where you're never supposed to just straight-up contradict or shut down something someone is saying. You're supposed to say "yes, and" and build on it. If you listen to comedy radio shows for example you'll notice this dynamic among the hosts (if they're any good, anyways). They don't contradict each other, they just add to and expand on what each other is saying, and they won't "shut down" a premise like this.

This isn't something you have to be taught or anything, it comes naturally to a lot of people who have good collab dynamics in Hololive. But you'll often see a lot of awkwardness where the girls will just turn on each other when they stick out their necks and start some kind of weird tangent, and instead of going along with it they'll do something like what Botan did and just say "uh, can we talk about something else?"

Gura was obviously making a joke, Kiara didn't seem to understand this and thought Gura was just actually stupid, so she started mocking her in this drawn-out, excruciating way. So while Kiara is "shutting down" Gura, she's doing it in a way that doesn't seem to indicate she even realizes it was a joke in the first place. (Not intended as a knock against Kiara by the way, she has a pretty good comedy IQ as well and is capable of being really funny, this was just an example that struck me as "bad manzai")

Pekora. She brought up a topic in a collab that was a very specific niche of interest. On top of that, she had no actual interest in the topic behind just wondering about it. She had not done any research about the anatomy, the neurology, the psychology, and the philosophy behind the topics. Nobody, it was just a random conversation you sometimes have with some pals, Pekora just spoke about a random topic without giving much deep which is like those conversations one has with friends when you are doing something else like homework, drinking, etc and just end with "whatever, what else have you been doing" a short topic that you wouldn't give too much thinking after.

Towa was kind-of right it was quite boring but it wasn't doing any harm and while she had the right to say her it was boring it might have been too... raw for Pekora I guess and Moons being there probably didn't help since the rabbit sometimes overthinks too much (as usual we us introverts).
