If we're keeping /mvp/ I would really love to see Spreadsheet anon update the content and model descriptions of all the boys. If he's not up for it, formally trying to pass the torch to someone else would be nice. The data is so wrong for most of the ones I've checked out there and I wonder how others would feel who are more tourist than me. A good collection of males of course but the content and type of model just miss a lot.

Im up for outside help with model descriptions. I know that some have changed over time as people change their models and use gimmick models. (I know a lot of those descriptions were written in October during holloween, which meant that I caught more than a few using gimmick model). Honestly, model descriptions is kind of a stupid/useless metric, and it doesn't seem very useful to me in hindsight(especially since you can just hover over their twitch link and get a little thumbnail of what is usually their model). It's also a frustrating one because describing models actually takes a lot of time and is very subjective. Even deciding which models are babis/shotas/femboys is very subjective and takes way too much time. So if anybody wants to go through and tidy up/improve model descriptions I'll be more than happy to copy it over wholesale.

As for the content descriptions... I've been planning on updating it for a while now. (I probably would have already if mvp was alive more often) Unfortunately this category is also much less useful than I originally envisioned it. I originally thought that vtubers would actually have easily generalizable things that they like to stream but it's actually quite rare. most vtubers just pick random games with little to no real patterns that I can tell. (I have resisted the urge to lable people as playing games which are on "meta", but it's the most common pattern that I can tell) So instead I just took the approach of being as objective with how I described their content as possible. This has its drawbacks of course, and I could also be more consistent with my in methodology. It's also rather out of date, but I'll get around to updating it at some point. It probably depends on if this thread can stay alive more or not. Putting a ton of work into a thread that is dead is not really all that appealing.

Im happy to use anybody else's work, but I've gotten little help so far (beyond the posting of links in this thread which I am very thankful for) so I doubt anyone would be up to the task of doing it. I don't even know why I continue with it, I guess I'll just not think about it too much and let my autistic energy take over and continue.

I personally would not bother to work on the Spreadsheet for anyone below, say, 10-20 CCV average. They simply need more experience.
If you're a male selfposter or lurker, I encourage you to really look at the spreadsheet yourself, and find and follow as many chuubas there as you like. Your best opportunities for growth are raids from males, especially similar males, and engaging in audience sharing. That's why girls incline, audience overlap raids, and that will be your ticket too.

I mean just thinking of tags to use on twitter. I don't know about twitch since I don't lurk twitch like that but I find boys to follow on twitter first so I can see more about them before watching their stream. I don't care if they don't have a fancy model or assets and even tags, but if I can find you somehow that'll be enough. I also do some digging to make sure the 2views I follow aren't involved or talk about any retarded drama. I know a lot of small indies are known for that and it's annoying as shit. Hashtags do work, just use them.

That's the thing, how are you going to branch out and find new fans (or let fans come to you) if you're only on these closed off spaces? Not everyone is willing to scroll through twitch to find people, sit through a 30 second ad if you have those on, then sit there for at least 10 minutes to see if they like your stream or not. Twitter gives me a quicker run down on who you are and what you're about. It's how I found the indies I follow. I know twitter can be intimidating because there's so much drama but just block or mute people and tags you don't want to see and you'll be fine. Also, not everyone likes to join a million discords.

If you're just doing this for fun and with your own circle of friends, then that's understandable. But if you're expecting to branch out and get more people to watch you, you're not going to get far at all. Even if you never collab or talk with other vtubers, just being on twitter so people can find you can go a long way.

Twitter is alright when you're beginning to network your way into 10-15 viewers, but you will never break out on Twitch with Twitter usage as your primary space unless you are a decent artist (ideally one doing 'fanart' of 'friends and vtubers you admire'). I've tried self promoting on Twitter and it just hasn't resulted in any viewers at all. I've gotten plenty of followers on Twitter but it just doesn't transfer over to twitch it seems. I won't pretend to know why it's like that but it is what it is. Most other male vtubers would agree with me I think. Not to say you shouldn't tweet, but like I said it does seem like a waste of time.

To be honest I long ago gave up any hope of getting big, and have promoted myself less and less often as a result(not that promoting myself ever did much of anything in the first place). Instead I just try to make my current viewers happy and put a lot of effort into streaming for their sake. This is something I do largely for my own sake, worrying about numbers is just not something I can do long term as a male vtuber. Mentally I would go quickly menhera if I focused on numbers and comparing myself to other people, there is just too much competition in the male vtuber space. Instead I like to focus on making my fans happy and trying to help smaller male vtubers that I enjoy get bigger by raiding them and stuff like that.
