NASFAQ General - Nabi Has To Shit Edition
Thread for the discussion of NASFAQ, a financial market simulator based on buying coins that represent the members of Hololive, Holostars, and some of their mamas. Basically, numberfagging for non-schizos.

This is a fake stock market game meant for to be played for fun, and is not a real stock market. Cryptofags will not be happy here, there is no real money involved. NO, you won't get better at stocks from this.

https://nasfaq.biz/info - READ THIS. No seriously, read it, faggot.

Jman8686 currently has 11 expired items on the auctions page, each of which cost him $1,000 every 15 minutes. The total amount he pays a day is $1,056,000. Not only can he afford to pay the cost thanks to dividends, but he'll make a profit as long as someone buys his items for at least $31M in a month
His current NW is $910,350,988, 93% of which come from money players have given him through auctions. In other words, you're missing out as a new player if you don't flood the auction house with expensive items
Also please fix picrel devs, it prevents anons from removing unsold items and kills the auction house

This has generally annoyed me for a while and I've came up with a couple ideas on how to solve this, namely the best two I can think of is limit a starting price to 5-10% of their current liquid, or charge them an instant % tax on the starting price, or would you guys prefer for me to grug limit all starting prices to a million max? Other suggestions are welcome, I can put a poll up if people give feedback on these thanks!
In the meantime, Jman you can just self bid on them to get rid of them.

Make the tax a % of the starting bid instead of a flat fee. If they go into the red and can't pay the fee, ALL of their auctions come down and no refunds are issued, and they also lose their Auction License.

That sounds good. Unsold spam can easily be removed, and since you can only sell one type of item at a time, you won't have more than 70 or 80 items up at a time from one player

>grug limit all starting prices to a million max?
This is good, stuff that costs more than one million will get higher bids anyway
Other problem is poorer players selling event items to double their networth, but I'm one of the people who buy event items so I can't say much on that

No I don't have any auctions up. Not to mention any time i buy from the auction house I end up paying a fortune because everyone loves to actually contest me whenever I do buy something.
Anyways sorry that you think there needs to be self interest involved, but is it just me who notices this? Everyone here has jumped on an opportunity to squeeze someone elses fun out of the game. Happens every time, look at all the people relishing this idea of making one of the few players who are probably actually having fun get crushed for having fun. Someone comes up with an idea that might make the game more fun? 10 people jump to say the idea sucks ass and will never make the game good. Someone comes sup with an idea to kill one of the rare people still messing around and trying to have fun? 10 people jump in to say wow yeah that person having fun was really pissing me off to! Really weak shit if you ask me.

>> No.42845169

>>42844128
>First actual discussion of mechanics in something like 5 threads
>"Stop being nazis and wanting to balance the game"
Shit like this is why the game is fucked. No caps, limits, restrictions, or consequences have made the game easy and sloppy, and the devs catering to the lazy idiots that don't even want to look at a chart that is literally handed to them every day has had significant and severe long-term consequences on the game's health.
The exact moment NASFAQ didn't have any punishment mechanics in place for Fund-based trading was the moment that honk may as well have packed the fuck up and closed the site. Nobody can reasonably be challenged anymore, and new players have not a single chance to get in. A reset won't bring those players back, and seasons won't either.

>> No.42845613

>>42845169
unfuckingbelievable. So you think the way forward for this game to make the auction house literally nobody uses have more strict rules and punishment for using it? Its so backwards thinking I just truly don't know how to argue with someone who thinks that.

>> No.42845863

>>42845161
>Someone comes up with an idea that might make the game more fun? 10 people jump to say the idea sucks ass and will never make the game good
Ironic you're saying this considering your post there >>42844128 was exactly like that, but your point isn't exactly wrong, given the amount of "I'll stop playing this game if you do this" responses there have been to dev posts without being willing to debate afterwards

Anyway the reason I brought up the subject wasn't to tell anon to not post expensive auctions, it's that anons will usually only bid if the items are related to their oshi, leading to expired auctions filling the page when you enter it, and no one bothering to scroll down to check new ones. We've had this problem for months with other players, and it pretty much killed the auction system until their auctions were finally bought.
If you're so angry about anons suggesting to put a cap on starting price, you could have made another suggestion, like putting expired auctions on the bottom of the page so that it would allow the system to work as usual, instead of just going on a rant about anons discussing the game in the thread

>> No.42845865

>>42845613
No, I think the solution is to make the auction house useful, and THEN implement mechanics that make it so that you have to actually think before you list 20 things at prices no reasonable person will ever buy. You should be punished for making willfully retarded financial decisions. That's one of the core pillars of the game, and it's been eroded by insistence that players NOT have to answer for their intentionally idiotic actions.

>> No.42847821

>>42845863
I just didn't see it as fun I guess, because it seemed intended to harm people who didn't play how other people thought they should play. I guess I can sort of understand, still the way people were talking about it bothered me.
>>42845865
I would love to see a useful auction house, but the one we have right now serves no purpose truly besides wiring money to friends or noobs and occasionally selling limited items. the entire concept here though with people saying shit like revoke their license or tax them to the point they can't play the game, its not even fun, I just don't get it. Its not making the game better in any way at all. Just set a 5 item limit for auctions up so they can't flood the market if your truly this worried about people going overkill, you want to prevent a flooded market fine, but imo your concept of punishing people for not listing things at dirt cheap prices sucks. Its not a willfully retarded financial decision the people that buy it are the ones making the willfully retarded financial decision anyways, and there ARE people who buy it as you can clearly see, so I am not so sure that your argument is about poor financial decisions rather than just being angry someone listed a high price on their item.
Also if you want a useful auction house you need useful items. I would actually like to see the implementation of useful items, perhaps through a secondary gacha system, because money is broken, I think the best way would be to have like 5 items with a 75/15/7.5/2/.5 (numbers could be discussed) and the way you gacha is buy trading 100 of a coin and each coin would have 5 items you could gain with each rarer item being better of course and x amount of equippable slots and they would affect solo trading only (to make it more viable again). that is just a spitball for coming up with ideas though on something that actually sounds fun (to me) anyways and obviously not very well thought out so don't kill me if something there isn't perfectly sound.
But yes I am not against a useful auction house or something like limiting the amount you can fill up the auction house with or something like what >>42845863 suggested, but I really am against the idea of permanently destroying someone for attempting to overcharge for an item or making all of the rare items not worth listing in the first place from a max limit. Sorry for the wall of text

It's can be disheartening when it feels like 1/4 things I'll suggest to help balance things or fix things usually gets met with complaints but no alternative suggestion was given. For example the rushia and civia adjustment, where all I was met with was "I will abayo" rather than having a discussion like I asked, until a month later someone gave me one point to consider and I happily went along with it. So I will thank you guys for having one after the initial bit.
In this case I am happy as well to consider literally any other suggestion including 'don't do it', just because I suggest something doesn't mean it actually has to happen.
Would people prefer that when an auction expires they eat a 5% listing tax and the item is returned to them? Originally this was the idea I had but I felt that was going to equally crush people who didn't know better without some limit. Last time this situation happened the dude couldn't exactly keep up with the fees and left from my understanding, I'd rather avoid this in the future and in the present somehow, even if it is entirely self inflicted, but ONLY if people want it.
>>42847821
For the last point about the rare items, I reckoned this was the use case for the "limit a starting price to a % of their liquid" cause this doesn't directly cost anything, and means that noobs won't accidentally screw themselves over, while allowing large players to still do fun large numbers, plus usually anything rare would be bet all the way up
-trial dev

>> No.42848858

>>42848486
I want to add the reason this annoys me isn't due to the stupid prices themselves, but the fact that it effectively kills off unsuspecting noobs in fees, and partially that it does ultimately clutter up the auction.

Having an auction automatically cancelled when the item isn't bid upon sounds like a nice way to avoid cluttering

As long as its done in a new player friendly way I'll concede I suppose, my biggest gripe was how many people wanted the punishment to be the end of their nasfaq career. Limit starting price to % of liquid isn't really that bad I guess, and maybe make expired items just return to inventory with only a 1% fee if you think there needs to be one, its a small punishment that doesn't punish if you post a single expensive item but if you post many expensive items it will quickly become punishing (without becoming a death sentence), and new players shouldn't be susceptible to this at all with the % liquid starting price forcing all of their listings to be relatively cheap.
