Anime has a fundamentally different audience to vtubers.

Actual CGDCT watchers don't care about males, so long as it serves the sum of the show's parts (Father characters in Gochiusa, Ritsu's brother in K-On, Big Bro in Non Non Biyori, the male love interests in Love Lab, etc. the list goes on).

Holo fans have never seen a CGDCT show in their lives, but use their headcanon of what they think K-On and JP idols are like and create a ruleset from that, thinly veiled over a false sense of insecurity about getting "cucked" by an anime streamer they find cute/want to fuck.
