Well this is a return to form to the abuse side of the fic. Although it's kind of repetitive for the abuse that's already explored in earlier chapters without really doing a big moment of character growth to justify it.
Though I do have to ask why you're keeping all of these stories in one 'anthology' given that you've basically stopped doing one-shots and are juggling like 3ish series under a big chapter count that might scare off people from reading thinking it's all one big fic.

Any ideas you guys have given up on? Whether it be because you don't have the time, there's too much on your plate or you simply lost interest, share them. One vague idea I had for a story went something like:

(You) are a famous music producer who is... quite bad at singing, but you enjoy making music and compositions for other people to sing to and bring your work to life. You sometimes stream on YouTube as a hobby, and one day on stream you decide to check out some up-and-coming streamers on the platform who enjoy singing or making music. One particular streamer you visit is an indie Vtuber named Hoshimachi Suisei. Impressed by her singing, you leave a comment in her chat and a handful of your viewers go to subscribe to her. Little did you know that this Suisei girl was on the verge of giving up and letting go of her dreams. Invigorated by the support of a famous person in the music industry and the new additions to her audience, she finds the strength to keep going.
Years later, you find yourself in desperate need for a fresh start. Every time you release music, people only listen to it because your name is behind it. You could release complete garbage and people would still praise it to high-heaven since you are the one who made it. You are no longer recognised for your music, but rather your name. Hoping to find some way to release music and stream under a different persona, you come across Hololive productions. Though you seem largely overqualified for the role, the fame or money doesn't interest you. All you want is for people to honestly listen to your music. That one girl in the other branch has a good voice, and her name sounds kind of familiar. You wonder if she would be willing to lend your her voice?

I autistically built this whole thing in my mind over time and have gone over events with Suisei, but I ultimately don't have enough space for another WIP and it doesn't seem like the greatest concept. Perhaps that could change in the future but it seems unlikely.

I've done fuck all this week because that one anon that suggested I look up the solorpg general on /tg/ to help come up with a system has unintentionally sent me down a rabbit hole of looking up ttrpg pdfs for mechanics that fit the dumb homebrew I'm making instead of actually writing anything. Honestly about halfway to dumping the homebrew system and just running with one of the systems I've scoured to act as the base for this and just adapt to an appropriate 'chuuba scale'.

Around 10k words, but I'm somewhat perfectionist over my stuff.
Of course, it's not like it can reach any measure of "perfection", and I'm looking forward to feedback (in particular, I have a feeling my dialogue work is dreadful), but I keep fretting over how each paragraph flows, and rewriting the ones that suck takes a while because it's hard to decide between twenty different possibilities of how to write what I need. On the other hand, just "rolling with it" so I don't stay stuck in the same line for two hours can lead to sloppy prose (beta reader caught that from the first draft, which prompted my current editing), so it's a catch-22 of damned if I do, damned if I don't.
At least the damn thing is progressing, but I can't seem to find a way to expedite the process while keeping the level of quality I'm aiming for because you anons deserve nothing less than the best. Not that it's killing me or anything, just a mangy vent.

This might seem like I'm playing devil's advocate or trying to stir up more shit, but the earlier discussion about how every fantasy story has at least some relation to Tolkien is genuinely making me rack my brain to come up with a completely unique world (that chuubas inhabit of course) with zero Lord of The Rings influence. Definitely impossible for an amateur like me but it's a fun exercise, coming up with your own systems and lore.

I mean, superficially the 'easy' way is to have it be a sci-fi setting, that at least avoids the hard influences of LoTR being the elephant in the room when it comes to the genre.
Of course this is just changing the sources of where you're taking influence from but as they say there's nothing new under the sun.

That's for sure. Someday I'll get to writing my big chuuba fantasy story I've been dreaming up for over half a year, but despite the fact that I tried to make it unique, the idea has without a doubt been done before (demons, angels, mythical beasts and whatnot). It makes me wonder if we (as humans/writers) just lack imagination, or if there truly are no fresh ideas out there. Or maybe we've even just been influenced by already written stories so much that we can't think outside the box.

... Too bad there's no way to tell a fic like that without either taking the piss and turning it into a joke, or making it an edge fest. Maybe there's a tone you can hit that strikes the balance to make it be a cool drama about putting down once great beings but I'm not sure anyone can really pull it off.

There are fresh ideas out there and you can think outside the box if you try, but that approach usually doesn't end up working out as well as something that utilizes what the readers already have in their heads.
Introducing a whole new fantasy species means having to explain them from scratch (and even having to work against established tropes/associations sometimes) - it's usually easier and more interesting to the reader to introduce "well-known fantasy species, but with a twist". I think of what's already established more as a toolbox than a prison.

So Dark Souls? Or Elden Ring? Or From Software games in general? Taking down Hololive members past their prime would be cool. I can see a balance being struck between it being full of jokes and still having drama and edginess... just use the comedy sparingly. Make it an oasis in a desert full of gloom and doom.
