when have i said it is another front for /meat/? i have said we can use /vtwbg/ to reorganize, but that has never effected my suggestions of lore. as for the magic system, my goal from the beginning was to make it as versatile as possible. my ideal would be that everyone follows canon with the same intent as i do, i can't help the fact that the only canon i can rightfully change is my own. of course the effects of my goals towards canonicity would be most strongly felt in my own jurisdiction. even if i always knew the most up-to-date lore of others, i have no right to alter it, and have gotten into trouble trying to make suggestions of how they can change it. the more versatile the magic system is, the easier it is to create an explanation as to why certain lore might be possible in other threads, and though last time i may have not been clear enough (i didn't sleep well for weeks that day, and might have not been able to sleep in general for a while, too. i don't remember) i did at least try to clarify that the ideas were regarding the future, though desu, last one was also largely about the past, back before we had any rules about how the system would have to work at all. basically, i thought it was a cool interaction that could lead to some more options.
as for the stuff with founder's story, i said meme magic was fickle, and that trying to force things to change through it in inorganic ways often had negative consequences, including the likelihood of the whole thing backfiring on people. i didn't want to push it since that would change the likelihood of it happening, as well, but the fact that it was interpreted as an attempt to change things with meme magic basically guaranteed it would not work. if you want, i can discuss with you what it actually is in my opinion, and why it has all of these strange mechanics behind it. with that said, i'll stick to the position that meme magic is a real thing, believe it or not. i like the idea of making our lore reflect reality more, though, especially in that regard. and the situation with /hag/anon was too delicate, i should have been harder earlier but we took half measures and allowed a whole bunch of bad things to happen. objectively, the way he was setting up his magic system could not work well with the purposes of our setting, but i said repeatedly that i was willing to help him make it better. in fact, i gave multiple suggestions on how he could make it better, but since they required the two of us to work together more closely, and frankly, because he wasn't very easy for me to interact with (not his fault, we just didn't seem to be all that compatible) we were never really capable of hammering out the details. the whole point of the archives, and especially the other people who are involved in the system, was to make it easier for newfags to understand what they are getting involved with, but the archive has always been incomplete, and my fellow chuubanite autists are clearly less autistic than i if they didn't care whether or not it would actually work in the way he suggested.
i'll stand by the statement that those who enter should adapt to what is present, not the other way around. there is no way of avoiding it, either some people are gatekept, or the whole system becomes broken and runs off of unjust policies that will only stand to make everything significantly worse. it wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't for the fact that i am the only one concerned about the longevity of our thread, and the fact that i am so utterly, and helplessly alone in my desire to make /vtwbg/ a coherent thing is probably not helping the longevity of the thread either, but no matter how many times i try to explain it, nobody else seems to have even the slightest interest in these factors. you'll say you have some place for canon in the far reaches of your mind, but if that were the case, i would not be literally the only one who argues on that front. if everyone else cared about canon, the issues involved with my ability to articulate to newfags wouldn't be a concern, and i wouldn't even have to speak in those matters.

pay attentions to patterns that exist in every society. also, to some extent or another, it has happened before. mostly in small ways, i suppose the biggest of recent memory is the situation with /hag/anon, but that was partially my fault as i mentioned since i am the only one who cares about matters of principle or how the system operates. the end of a system is hypothetical until it isn't, what i am more concerned with is the fact that without a firm foundation, even if the whole system doesn't collapse, it would promote behaviors that are not beneficial to any part of the community, and would lead to it's effective destruction.

he understands military well enough. i think i explicitly said that all the response to it was a mischaracterization of what i said. it was about psychology, and i stand by my interpretation of it.

you mean when we were sent to /trash/? that was far from the initial few deletions. it was around the time the staple incident occurred, somewhat after actually. we have been getting deleted since before /vtwbg/, but it started picking up in pace just before the staple incident, and maybe 3 or so months after. /vtwbg/ hasn't existed much beyond a year. or are you refering to when /meat/ started getting deleted? /sbg/ was getting deleted pretty soon after it's creation, the first /meat/ threads that came afterwards had 2 consecutive threads that made it to bump limit before they started getting targeted. we've had strategies for evading them for a long time, and are still kicking despite insistence to the contrary, and it looks like we are benefiting from other threads helping us, so that's nice.

I mean the general time frame where deletions really became a solidified thing for /meat/ and the other /d/egenerate threads. I checked through the archives and found a time of around July 5th 2022 where a thread was posted but got deleted before anyone could post in it and that translates to 1303 VTE so I think that's the proper time stamp for the Custodial Inquisition.

Good taste Also, I started a detailed height map of the continent a while back (on break due to my monhun addiction resurfacing) and here's the /uuu/ map, if you feel like using it for anthing. If not, that's ok, it's a personal project to get used to the new tablet anyhow.

There isn't much lumber around. So wood would be used for framing. Ground floor is built from stone. Second floor is split timber and wooden flooring. The outer walls are split timber with wattle and daub sealed with plaster. Thank either Emma or Alice for posting a picture of an old French? or German house with that design.

We used wood as sparingly as we could. Still we took great care of the wood by polishing it so it looks beautiful. The rooftop is either thin slate tiles or ceramic. We could use thatch made from rye and barley hay for now if we have to.

Yeah, I agree. Lately Ive used it to bounce ideas off of for like my FFXIV RPs and one or two DnD campaigns and its nice for that, and stimulating different thought processes or getting over writer's block. Kind of like talking with someone else. You can ask for ideas and suggestions, but you shouldnt ask someone else to write your story for you then pass it off as your own.

That being it said, I thought it might be interesting to play "necromancy" with it and maybe find some countries here with long-dead lore, feed the existing stuff into the ai, then see what new stories or ideas it comes up with.

also while I don't really mind being used as argument and generally don't correct people on what I do or don't agree with, I'm not a doomer about the thread as a whole or about the idea that vtwbg is going to end before march is over. I think all this thread really needs is a new perspective, new things that we can explore without the baggage created over time. I think having new canons and alternate canons so that people can explore different variations of their thread and new ideas without having to worry about the mechanics and setting alot of us have built over time is what will keep vtwbg alive. Settings without chuubanite or that actually have chuubas as present figures, there's that one giantess idea that was posited early on that is honestly pretty cool, not to mention haaton's flat earth. Alot of the lore issues we're seeing is something that generally happens when a collaborative writing occurs without a really defined focus and intent and I think making Vitubia a base setting for people to work on with info on climates, geography, and tectonics already present along with all the other compiled info is more than enough for anyone to begin to investigate an alternate setting with a seperate canon.
I've already said that a big difficulty I have with writing for Luna is that its hard to fit the ideas I have for representing the Candy Kingdom as a nation accurately in a way that stays true with the thread's themes and behaviors rather than just throwing in things that I find fun and having them do whatever so having the ability to create a Candy Kingdom that fits a general setting wide thematic idea is already proving to be way easier for me. I think someone like OG would probably prefer a setting that was less tumultous and more wild, maybe a discword esque world where "Shit Happens" is the common theme. I think alot of writers who've lost their motivation or are struggling for motivation could find it when they look at /vtwbg/ as a place for settings rather than a place for a setting.

Doesn't have to be a company. Again most of that depends on how you want to tell their story. Do you want them to have a harder time at first? Alright, some examples
>An Echo of Aloe. A long-limbed crocodilian creature with long pink hair and eyes resembling headphones. Many horns, many extra mouths, kinda necromorphy. Pretty fucking big. Kaiju sized. Garners utmost attention because once one appears these fuckers can mess things up. Thankfully very rare. Only a handful every decade at most.
>A Blessed of Ayame: Taller than a regular Human. Many oni like features such as horns, teeth. Fulfill the job as either tribal brutes, clan chieftains, or Ayame's bodyguard/messengers. It differs on the society. In general, the Blessed never make up more than 1% of the population at most in any given nation.

Haachama's land is one split by her personality. Haato and Haachama switch places frequently throughout history, sometimes for years at a time. This also brings about a change in her people. As Haato her state is very calm, pretty standard. As Haachama, it is madness incarnate and can behave very unpredictably and often with disastrous consequences. So the others are constantly on watch to see whether Haato is going to switch to Haachama, and vice versa. Haachama's lands often get quarantined when she switches.
Haachama is the only one to have killed another of her kin (Suzaku in this case).

Admittedly while the story was wonderful, it did really lean too hard on meta magic in a way that gave off a bit of cope energy that has likely led to the confusing state that /meat/. /ag/ and architects have been practicing and perfecting meme magic for longer for real world architectural results and a conversation about what you think meme magic actually is would probably be interesting rather than attempting to brute force it into a reality.
That being said, I still get the overwhelming feeling that half of the complaints I'm seeing about meat could be solved by just having a backbone and engaging in a cordial discussion rather than having schizophrenic breakdowns.

As a story? Absolutely not. It was well written and exciting.
As a spirit of the thread? Very. Especially with the 'death of a janny and chuuba' as its closure. It leaned heavily towards a grudge-fic perceptive.
The inclusion of the exile wall in particular even turned into an argument with /ybc/ anon.
While it is a great story, I am sorry to say that it felt like an unhealthy coping mechanism with the loss of our thread by writing a fantasy that we want but could not achieve.
