For sure. It feels like they printed a massive number of the first album and then adjusted back for the 2nd album. I do recall that it was available until the very end of the INNK shop, and then nothing. I've seen two sell on second-hand markets since. Set up google alerts, written a bot to scrape certain popular sites. I've even seen someone write a blog post about how rare the album is and to please sell it.

My personal rrat is that it's a contract thing, pre-holo, she probably had a set number of songs and lives, and that went away with her joining hololive, so she's doing it where she can pocket more of the money and keep the viewership. Creative control shouldn't be a concern anymore because that should've gone away when cover stopped paying for it.

My theory is that it's always better having her around even with low stream times than to face bad PR for letting her go.
Fans don't want to hear about graduations even if it's peaceful and by the talent's own decision.
That should explain why people who cover holds onto people that stream so few times a month. You can talk about merch money in those cases but I think it's more about keeping the fans reassured that no oshi is going to be fired without a really heavy resaon.

Oh yeah for sure, I'd hate to see her go, and she really has no reason to. Access to hololive talent and resources, not to mention the connections. She's clearly not being held to streaming minimums and has some kind of deal going on that she gets to use L2D outside of cover occasionally. It's perfect for her, really. My only issue with this situation is that I like AZKi's music, and the only one that sings AZKi's music (except for maybe inochi) is AZKi. The day job, as I see it, is more about stability, disaster insurance and living up to whatever expectations her family and society hold her to. There's likely also benefits like better health insurance and matched retirement fund contributions. Cover is not gonna be around forever and I have absolutely no read on whether her activities on nayuta pay the bills. There's also always the risk of serious injury to her money maker. If I had to guess, she's probably grinding as hard as she can, while she still can, and retire/quit once her family has reached enough stability, then just do music on the side as passion project while she's raising her 27 children from me. equal really didn't work for me, felt incredibly disjointed and breaks the Pages EP form for me in a bad way. The WataruSena EP felt somewhat repetitive and I couldn't get into any of the songs.

The randomness probably comes from how I judged songs. S tier are songs that have a memorable arrangement or where I felt AZKi's emotion come through clearly. They still get me and I can't help but jam. Gonna use Rotate repeated as an example, the song is incredibly accessible to me from the first beat and I can follow it all the way.
That also applies to the A and B tier, just to a lesser extent.
C to D tier are mostly songs that fall into the overlap of softer AZKi, instrumentals that don't feel that inspired to me or songs I like on the surface but would skip on a shuffle playlist because overplayed, FAKE FAKE FAKE for example. It's kinda like SSS, I'm gonna enjoy it and cry like a little bitch when they sing it at 4th fes but it's not on my playlist. Another example of this would be asuiroClearSky vs. Shijoushugi Adtruck, the former is nice but the latter does something to stand out that I don't get tired of.

I think most Pioneers and Nayufans already know where to go to discuss the diva. My intention with the thread was to try to shill her music to as many new listeners as possible. I think there's a lot of catalog scrollers who might not really know her music outside of the usual songs, and I hoped to lure some shitposters in with the bait-style OP. I don't think many people randomly enter splits on a whim, so I believe that these catalog threads are better for exposure to curious and/or bored people. When glanced at in the catalog, threads that use complex artwork and have a wall of text in the OP don't really stand out as much as the typical white-background-default-pose.jpg threads do in my opinion.

Ideally I would have acquired and posted a list of the songs that have the highest likelihood of getting someone hooked to her music at the start of the thread. However, I haven't had much luck in assembling such a list. One problem with simply asking for favorite songs is that a recommendation from someone who has heard Inochi once might not be as useful as a recommendation from someone who has been listening to everything she's released for many years. There was a poll a few months back that had Sayonara Hero, From A to Z, and Inochi as the thread's most recommended songs, but again, it's difficult to tell if those were informed opinions. For example, nobody voted for Intersection despite the song seeming reasonably popular. I was hoping that the tier lists would help in this regard, or at least help in sparking some discussion. Unfortunately they take forever to do, and often there isn't much to comment on. They don't even prompt "top 3, bottom 3" replies...

I wonder if an AZKi split would be a reasonable option in the future. I don't have any problem posting in /sora/ and /vsinger/, but I think the lack of a centralized place to discuss AZKi means that many people just stick to making passing comments in the faster threads. However, an AZKi thread on its own probably wouldn't survive given her sporadic rate of activity.

As the anon that established, baked and archived for /IRyS/, later /HiRyS/, for ~9 months, I cut, fixed and posted 300+ of her karaoke songs and made a serious effort to encourage soundposting and discussion of her songs and singing, which worked for about two weeks. I occasionally saw other anons post them, but only to bump or because they felt like it, there is basically no conversation about music left. Nice VSinger split s capitalized to spite the schizos *chu*. In retrospect it's quite obvious why my vision for /HiRyS/ didn't come to pass.
IRyS discouraged that kind of discussion by streaming primarily games, which naturally warped the audience away from music, but at least she streamed. In a potential /nazkyuta/, and as you pointed out yourself, the first hurdle is the frequency at which we get content from her that we can talk about, which isn't very high. We could only have a thread when she's actually live until, if ever, the thread sustains without bump watch dogs. I'm a regular in /nina/ (saotome) and that system works decently well, except for the odd /lig/ schizo. Quite comfy, too! There's no thread when she's not live and the thread is also left to die once she's done for the day.

This is a caricature, which distracts more than communicates. It no more impresses an artist than a bird-watcher teaching a bird the physics of flying. And you are discussing music composition instead of singing. Many vsingers like Nina approach singing as artists, where communication is intuitive instead of exact. One of course should still know common terms like belting or staccato (and some people still misunderstand what belting is), but overall things are very accessible.

I'm not sure if making AZKi threads for individual streams is the way to go. There's already plenty of other places where people discuss AZKi during her streams, ranging from the fast variety threads like global and numbers to the slower splits like vsinger and sora. Based on thread activity in the past, I don't think people often go out of their way to migrate to the smaller threads for discussion, and instead just stick to wherever they're currently posting. Even with AZKi's recent karaoke frame there were more posts in global and numbers than sora and vsinger, which still received more activity than this thread did.

When I mentioned informed opinions, it was not my intention to allude to technical comprehension. Instead, I wanted to portray that, in regards to recommending the most widely palatable AZKi songs, I would value the opinion of someone who was familiar with most of her releases more than someone who was not familiar. Generally, music I listen to isn't theoretically impressive, so if someone justifies their enjoyment of a song with "I like what I hear" then that's good enough for me.

Establishing a new general is always a rocky affair, you need to give people time to recognise that it exists and what kind of discussion to take there.
