/nasfaqg/ - NASFAQ General - Last minute before adjusts edition
Thread for the discussion of NASFAQ, a financial market simulator based on buying coins that represent the members of Hololive, Holostars, and some of their mamas. Basically, numberfagging for non-schizos.

This is a fake stock market game meant for to be played for fun, and is not a real stock market. Cryptofags will not be happy here, there is no real money involved. NO, you won't get better at stocks from this.

https://nasfaq.biz/info - READ THIS. No seriously, read it, faggot.

HFZ's 2nd Anniversary Stream will be next Wednesday at 11a NASFAQ server time. There will be gambling.

Additionally, there will be gambling for Ollie's Apex tourney results, and if she streams it at a time I'm able to watch live, I'll try to run live betting for it as well.

VTL4 and Lord of the Board gambling will also happen when those events occur.

You'll get whatever you have managed to grow the price of the shares to yes, so if you are good at trading then the prices will go up. If you bought 1k shares at $3k each, then saw that Suisei had a 3d live so invested, that day she spikes and the fund networth grows, then the shares might be $6k each, if you dissolved at that point after selling the coins you would get the 1k shares back at $6k (or you would just sell that day). thats not why, its because as smaller fund has infinitely more buying power
with a larger fund most of your money will be in as the sports would say, dead cap, things you technically own but cant sell since you can only sell the first 7000 of each coin.
A small fund is like being a new trader again, every 50% dip is a +200% growth on the fund,. wheres the truly big funds struggle to even break even or get 5%. And while fund fees are nice, growth is what you want, growth is what turns that starter share into a bigger share when you sell or dissolve.

someone buys 3 shares for 3 beans
theres is 103 beans in the fund, but because you have 100/103 shares you are still worth the exact same 100 beans
when someone buys your fund the fund price doesnt change youre not losing money, the real downsides are unwanted liquid, and less of your work going to you if youre not majority shareholder, both of which dont matter if youre selling

It's not really about the networth growth, it's about the amount of shares and the price. Most funds started with a price of below 10K per share, and now that there are over 1 million shares of the fund, the price growth is slowing down
For example, let's say you start a fund with a price of 200K with a networth of 2B and 1K shares. For now it's simple, you just need to get to 4B to double the price of your shares. However, let's say 10 players buy your fund, increasing your networth to 4B. There won't be a difference in your share price right away, but you'll still need to double your networth to double your share price, which is now 8B instead of 4B when. Now, it's been a month since you started trading, and your networth is 30B with a share price of 300K. You'll need to reach 60B networth to go from a price of 300K to 600K
Simply put, the growth of your price is inversely proportional to the growth rate of your shares, which is why I recommended to Pee to dissolve while he still could because he already has 500K+ shares. Honestly, he can probably dissolve his next fund after a month as well, because by the time he reaches 20B in networth, he'll probably have a huge ass amount of shares once more

Crash when it's convenient, really.

>> No.42297831

>>42295598
but that is playing based off how it feels, not off of reality. If you make a new small fund of 100m because you have 20B Your not going to generate 20B faster than you would generate 20B on your current fund, it just feels better mentally but it is not better, I don't really know how else to explain it. The only possible benefit you can argue that isn't based on feeling is the percentage of shares you own compared to others. Look I don't think theres anything wrong with doing it to play in a way that feels good and see big percent spikes, but objectively the fund that never dissolves and makes the same trades as you is going to triumph.

>> No.42298005

>>42297831
You're right, but we're arguing two different things. You're looking at the growth of the net worth, and I'm talking about the growth of the price slowing down the more people buy your fund. If you consider the fund as its own entity, then its price probably doesn't matter all that much to you, but it's a different story if you're looking at it from the perspective of a player trying to increase his net worth with his fund

how are you going to wrap back around to my initial argument on why some people dissolve in the first place .-.

>> No.42298272

I think the basic idea of the rinse and repeat fund is quite sound, but so far no player has actually done it properly or has gotten into a good rhythm of starting and restarting.
The opportunity cost of the downtime between beginning to dissolve and then actually dissolving is often not worth it, especially for higher networth players with much higher networth funds. I also think most of the dissolvements we've had so far weren't necessarily because the CEO wanted more profit, but generally because they were somehow unsatisfied with the fund. In this case I say it's fine, but it could've been handled more elegantly.
