Even if she could no longer work anything resembling the same hours as before due to attending university, there would be no reason for Cover to push her towards resigning. Whereas in a normal job an employee who can no longer perform his duties will just be replaced, the person behind a vtuber cannot be replaced under any circumstances. The resignation of the roommate means the end of the character and the permanent loss of an asset. From the Cover side, if one of their longtime talents had a change in lifestyle that required them to give up streaming as a full time job but said talent still wished to be a part of the company it would make far more sense to do what they presumably did with Mel and say, "You can be a casual employee. Do as little or as much as you want, as long as it doesn't lead to yabs and we get 50% of the money like before." Yeah, this is a cool idea. Hololive can help them to build some story and leaving them free to tell it as they want, and when they want. But only in certain times, having to roleplay something all the time will be cringe. In fact I hope Haachama stops the roleplay at some point (preferably after the 1m milestone), because it can get old kinda quick if she doesn't have new ideas. Yeah, she has been extremely smart so far but this particular story arc might get old too quick if she didn't plan enough backstory to support it. I think it's better to milk just the right amount instead of dragging it out for too long.
