It is a little depressing to think about the situation that happened with the debut of Council. Railroading everyone hard into their character roles really held them back initially. And it seemed when Sana was settling into niche that fit her (completionist gamer) that accident happened and seemingly limited her in that regard. She used to brag about being able to sit in one spot and not move from it from morning to night, I imagine that's how she managed to stream and still do her other job at the same time.

Back/Spinal injuries are weird. Edge had such a fucked up spine doctors said he had to quit pro wrestling cause one more bump could kill him. Alright. This is just gonna be me thinking as I write since your post prompted some thoughts.
I feel like the format of a modern Vtuber should be more flexible. We're too used to a world of full-time content creators who feel like they're on 24/7. There's gotta be room for people who aren't expected to share their entire world with their viewers even if that parasocial investment is where the deepest gains are and what the algorithm wants as consequence. Think of something like a TV show that runs in cours or seasons. A strong creator who may not necessarily have the endurance, desire or capability of year round streaming can instead focus on a smaller part of the year to bang out quality content. Instead of a hiatus being looked upon as a weakness and signal for graduation, it becomes regular and returns feel more substantial. I'm not even thinking specifically of Sana as I type, but of all the entertainers that have thousands of fans. Imagine these people, who have so much support, still get no time to really, really chill. That means the rest of us are fucked lmao.

I don't think it was the streaming that caused Sana to quit, her and several other holos have gone for months of no streams with no consequence - if anything it was covers demands behind the scenes, both holos and homos have talked about the amount of off-screen work that they have to do and that coupled with her other work was probably the straw that broke the camels back so to speak
